The Crypto really affect GPU price so unless you need one now than buy.
If not wait cuz Intel sooner will release their mining chip design solely for mining.
By than mining GPU will slowly move to the new mining platform.

FYI if anyone looking at around $300 GPU, can look at GTX1060 etc.
GTX970 goes around $200 for second hand but it is dated GPU.
I myself still use GTX 1050 so I am more in need of a upgrade but I wait for the price to drop first.

GTX1060 is still a very capable card. Just dont expect ultra settings at 1440p. Mine is quite old but a year ago I can sell at a profit

"Dong-ing" with my GTX1080, and a (second-hand) GTX1060 as standby just in case my primary card uplorry.

>$500 for a low-mid range GPU....GPU and DDR5 are like luxury goods now.o_O

if what mlid says is true, its going to be the 3060 situation all over again, first day msrp then inflated pricing ever since. now carou most listings are at $700, with only bizgram (!) selling at $600. at $700, u might as well get rx 6600, which can offer up to half as much more performance (again mlid touched on this in his latest video).
Not an "if", it's already an "it is true". Look at every single Nvidia launch. It is the ultimate master stroke as a profit-driven business.

They get to look good on paper vs AMD with their "MSRP", while never intending to actually flood the gaming market with supply to cater to demand.

AMD's RX line offers much more value in raw performance per dollar. It's only in the overall feature set that AMD is lacking.

Heck, I even ordered a 6800XT ($1.7) before ultimately settling on a 3090 ($3.9) prebuilt.
