Intel somewhat will bring balance to the market. I feel it will force AMD and Nvidia to revise their prices downwards particularly their low-midhigh end. Intel knows they have to competitively sell their cards to gain interest. So I think they will price their highest end at mid-end pricing and their mid-end at the lower-mid end pricing. Don't see how people would adopt ARC if not for pricing. That's the key factor. Plus you can trust Intel to commit to healthy supply if it takes off.

Intel has the deep pockets like Nvidia, so I think they may be a good competitor. But at this point in time, I don't think adding Intel into the mix will solve anything due to supply chain issue, and likely won't see the market flooded with GPUs. After all, all the GPUs from AMD, Intel and Nvidia may likely be churned out by TSMC. So if TSMC can't keep up with supply, we will still end up in poor supply, and/or, high prices. This is my opinion.

In the mean time, I think Intel still have a lot of work to do to catch up with Nvidia and AMD in the field of GPUs. Not that they are "new" to this product, but because they are very behind the big 2 when it comes to product cycle. In 2022 when AMD and Nvidia are expected to release their next gen GPUs, Intel is still struggling to release their first gen, which so far based on rumours, is just comparable to the high mid range GPUs. While one can argue that next gen GPUs is likely going to be short in supply and high in prices, but once the new is out and brings a leap in performance, chances of people wanting to buy a similarly priced but slower GPU is quite low. It is more of the mindset.

This I agree. In fact, I am using the RX 6600 XT now and very happy with it. For people thinking of getting a "budget" GPU, I think the RX 6600 is a decent card for 1080p, with the potential for 1440p gaming. I tested my RX 6600 XT running Horizon Zero Dawn, and with a high/ favoured graphical settings, the card was able to maintain close to 60 FPS. Turn FSR on at Ultra settings, and FPS went up to about 78 FPS. The cheapest RX 6600 I found was below 700. In fact, I noticed that AMD RX 6600 series prices seems to be trending down of late.

Won't be anytime soon till they start fabricating their own nodes in-house. They have spent a large amount into new plants and machines. TSMC is only a temporary stop-gap till their infrastructure is up. By then, if and only if Intel's ARC GPUs shows potential, I'd say it will slowly build up customers momentum and interest. Initial debut of ARC GPUs may not be all that exciting but Intel's key factor to entering the market is price. If performance is around that of AMD or Nvidia and price is say 20% cheaper, this would be an excellent alternative.

I would say Intel has the potential to make the ARC GPUs work out even better over time if their first release is a competitive one. Right now both AMD and Nvidia aren't value propositions anymore which has cause budget PC building to be pretty much dead. Arc might change this around with their pricing.

some pricing updates

newegg has msi 6600 for $700, inc shipping
lazada over the weekend has 6600xt for $760
fuwell on shopee is selling 6600xt for $730 after $30 voucher
carousell has a seller selling xfx 6600xt for $770

i've seen 6500xt selling for $380 at a number of places

cheapest 3050 i can find at the moment is still around $700

Err.. Caurosell have to be careful, ask for invoice/receipt as some seller don't give.
If they don't have than have to check if the warranty is under the seller or imported.
Sometimes Caurosell seller won't say if the computer part is imported from overseas.

The downside of AMD cards is that they sux for emulation and encoding :(.

I think to get 3050 is better way, cheaper and slightly faster than 1660 super

Looking at nvidia pricing maybe i will just get a 6600XT to replace my GTX1070.
