Damn! Only 2 days of usage and I just found out the bottom speakers spoilt. Was hearing a weird tinny buzzing noise, so I tried to play a video and no sound from the bottom speakers, only the buzzing noise.

Have to RMA back to Nvidia but I'm not sure if the return label that they sent me can use for international shipping and they can only ship the new unit to my forwarder not directly to Singapore.

I really have no luck with this tablet. First tablet got lost and subsequently returned to Amazon (first time it happened to me) and now second tablet has broken speakers.

Actually both the original shield and the K1 have the same basic design and dimensions. So a case that can fit the original shield can fit the K1 too. The K1 might not come with a stylus but it can be used with the Nvidia stylus.

Ok an update.....

I spoke to Fedex and they told me the RMA Return Label that Nvidia sent me can't be used for international shipment. Dulan so I chatted with the Amazon CS, told them my unit has a faulty speaker. The guy immediately apologized and arranged to have a replacement unit sent to me, no question asked!

I think I will pass either the new set or this faulty set to my mom. I have never used the external speakers before, either on this or my previous tablets. I probably won't know about the faulty speaker if not for the buzzing sound.

saw this, to get the stylus function back have to do a flash of ROM, must unlock boot loader, too much of a hassle.

The $199 option is sold by Amazon directly, not by 3rd parties and will have free shipping to Singapore. If you don't see that option, it just meant that it is sold out at Amazon, so just chill and wait for it to be back in stock. Amazon will not announce a price increase because $199 is the MSRP.
