Not sure why yours didn't go thru but here's a screenshot of mine after updating using the full OTA.zip via TWRP

Thou the kernel version will reflect as 3.1.1. Mine the same as yours

I'm cannot be 100% certain as I based mine on a post on Nvidia forums where a member shared his build number. This is because I removed the OTA ability on mine to avoid the kill switch. But the build number does indeed differ from the previous version. Maybe they didn't update the kernel for this update.

hi all, i've just own a nvidia shield tab 16gb wifi version.. just have a few qns to ask

1. is there any local shop which we can get a casing for the nvidia shield tab? or we have to get from overseas?

2. Is rooting and installing custom rom the best way forward? seems that there's a few complains about the stock os so hopefully someone can share their experience?

3. how do we solve the apparent weak wifi signal issue? the reason i'm asking is because last nite while using it for the 1st time i kept experiencing drop connections.. not sure because of my router or other causes...

thanks in advance! love the feel and built of it. haha but have to get used to playing games on the tab :p

I didn't bother searching locally and the ones I saw online for NvST wasn't to my liking. Ordered a Samsung Tab 8.9 leather pouch.

I personally prefer the stock Android experience by Nvidia. No performance issue at all except that the battery life could be better. Only rooted/custom recovery to avoid kill switch. Blisspop on the other hand gave me video lag/glitches when playing MKV videos with MX Player.

No drop connections with either 2.4/5ghz on my router.

Good deal for those who don't already have the original and don't mind Wi-Fi only

Actually it's not a promo, nvidia just rereleased it as the Shield K1 with the same internals with some slight differences (no stylus, no usb cable/power brick). At 199 it's a steal. Been looking to replace my 2012 N7 and this couldn't have happened at a better time. :D

http://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2015...w-still-the-best-small-android-tablet-around/

I'm also looking to replace my 2012 Nexus 7! Mine is so laggy now. I'm using it ONLY to view Marvel Unlimited Comics but it lags horribly even just browsing through the comic collections.

Was thinking of maybe buying the Mi Pad next week at Sitex, afterall it's one of the cheapest high specs tablets around, though I was abit fearful of the lagging and bad optimizations that users have complained about. Not to mention the lack of new updates....

Just happened to see this today. NO BRAINER! Might just hoot it from Amazon today, take advantage of the free shipping.

EDIT: There's a bundle option with a PNY 128GB microsd card. Have to pay US$13 shipping for the card, but I think even with the shipping, it might still be cheaper. Will check and shop around and report back later.

I almost pulled the trigger earlier as well, but since Black Friday is next week I'm hoping there might be some promos or whatnot. 1 more week of waiting shouldn't be too bad.

Saw the bundle with the 128gb microsd, really looks tempting.
