sorry noob question, if i use ipad 2.4A charger, can the tablet take it? below the tablet it says 2A

i once asked a friend this question. the reply i got was "the tablet will only take max at what it can take or the max of the charger if it is less than what the tablet can" :s13::s13:

i have a question myself too. if i buy a 2 port usb power adapter that says output 3A. if i use both usb concurrently, does the 3A gets split into 2 or each port will serve 3A?

Yup. Game play is very smooth and doesn't lag at all. I got this tablet mainly for it too. :) but miscellaneous is draining my battery too much during standby!

actually i have mipad for VG....then i wanted to buy K1 to try out..but my home/finance minister dont allow :(

i find that on mipad...sometimes there seem to be like missed touch issue :(

what is your ign for VG..maybe can pm me?

this tablet is awesome but very rough around the edges. hope it gets ironed out very soon.

so if i only make use of 1 of the port at 1 time i get full 3A?

to get 3A, yr charger must support output of it on one of ports.

yr cable use to charge must support the 3A

yr device must support charging of 3A also.

otherwise it will just fall back to the common one.


correct me if im wrong :s13:

actually how do i even test the output of each port? if the port is 3A but cable is not, the inaccurate reading might be due to cable and not the port hor? hahaha...

with that, if the 3A output will be shared with the no. of devices that is charging concurrently, i can say that there's no need to buy branded (anker or aukey) charger right?

The Anker/Aukey charger have higher wattage which allows concurrent charging at it's max amp of usually 2.1-2.4A per port.

Calculate wattage is P (W)=V(Voltage usually 5) X I(Current which is the amps).

One thing to note. Chargers that are rated 3A, 5A or more does not equate that it will charge any device at whatever the charger is rated at.

Smart devices will only take what is rated for the manufacturer battery.

Example, a Quick charge 2.0 device such as Samsung S6, its battery is able to charge at a maximum voltage of 9v & 1.67A. If there is no quick charge charger, it will only take in 5v & 1.73A.

No matter what charger you put, example a traditional 5v 2.1A charger, it will only charge at 5v 1.73A. It will not pull 2.1A.

However there are some devices that will take 2.1A. Such devices are like the iPad Mini, iPad...

The current new standard is USB Type C, which can go up to 5v 3A. Its objective is to fast charge just like Quick charge 2.0. But Type C cables are meant to widthstand high output current. Unlike Type A which could only take in max 2.4A.

Presently trying to find a power bank that can output 5V 3A for a single port for my Nexus 5X. Most can only output max 5V 2.4A.

The only power bank that I've found is Red Monster's Big Bang power bank but it's freaking ex, for 10kmAh, it's $100 at Challenger and $80 at Lazada.

Type C ports on 5x or 6p can go 3A. BUT only if both sides are type C. If one side is Type A, it will go max 5v 1.5A ONLY.

That will also depends on the cables being used. A certified Type A to C cables must have 50 ohms resistors inside. If its not certified, you risk burning your own charger or power bank.

I suggest you go for RAVPower 20100mAh with type C port. This will give you proper 5v 3A to charge your nexus 5x.
