U use kodi before? Use kodi as per normal.addons, repos etc..I recommend HAL launcher. Better than the stock launcher

It seems like 3rd party launchers cannot be set as default anymore.
How about yours?

doesn't work its broken. Anyone getting auto shut down on the satv. Works fine for about 30+ min then SATV resets itself. Also when I turn off the SATV from the sw menu it flickrs goes blank and does not turn off. have to manually hit the off button, restarting the satv solves the problem temporarily.Sian man is mine faulty?

Your Shield TV will reset itself every 30 mins? That sounds bad. Have you tried resetting to factory settings? Did you side load any apps? Maybe you try factory reset and just use it stock and see if it resets itself again. Could be some app causing it?

Ordered the Pro version and arrival end of the week!

Hi All, had been going through the long thread and there's lot of stuff to learn and do!

Buying this mostly to watch online content (Netflix, Hulu), KDrama (for Wife) and play a bit of racing games with Kids.
Additionally, will be plugging in external drives to watch TV Shows (Kodi).

Anyone can recommend some tutorials or anything I should be aware about?

The unit is the Pro version (500 GB) with the Controller + Remote.

Thank you!

Guys, the official Nvidia SATV remote is missing the "menu" button. Any known methods or replacement BT remote that can work with Nvidia SATV?

Yes, purchase the Amazon Fire TV Stick remote. It has menu, back, home, play/pause, rewind, forward, up down left right, and enter.

Much better remote that the official. The only disadvantage is lack of volume control.

But make sure to get the "Amazon Fire TV Stick" and not the one with Voice control, as the Voice remote doesn't pair with SATV.

good news. netflix has been launched in SG officially. no need to use VPN or any smartDNS service.

and the best part is I can still login with my US account.

Sent from Samsung SM-G920I using GAGT

I wonder if we switch subscription to SG account, can we still use VPN to switch region to US/Canada Netflix ?

No real motivation to switch to local account though, because after currency conversion, US account is still cheaper @ S$13.14 compared to SG account @ S$13.99.

According to Nvidia, the Y button on your controller should work as a menu button in most apps:

http://support-shield.nvidia.com/controller-user-guide/index.htm#t=default-controller-actions.htm

For me, I am using the melee F10 deluxe remote, it has learning function and I can used it to control TV too, so only 1 remote needed.
