1. Remote only = remote controller
2. Remote with controller = remote controller + gaming controller
4. Addon : Gaming controller = Remote controller + 2x gaming controllers?

Am I correct?

Most probably correct. To play safe, better check with the seller or CSO.

The gamepad controller is more useful than the remote. I rarely use the remote anymore.

Agreed. The remote is expensive and not worth it as compared to the controller and the shield's primary purpose is a gaming device.

Still waiting for Qoo10 promotion $50 of $300. Then I can get Nvidia Shield TV for under S$300. Else it's way over S$300.

Amazon selling it for SGD299.30. Keep on monitoring on Amazon for a good deal. I got it at SGD267.50 during a promo at a low currency exchange rate.

Amazon warranty covered locally?
If I purchase it through Qoo10, I believe I just need to send it to local store then they will handle warranty by shipping here and there themselves.

No problem with warranty. I had my controller exchange 1 on 1 by Nvidia. All you have to do it is informed them on your issues via live chat. They will do a bit of trouble shooting with you and if they feel it is a genuine case of faulty item, they will require you to screenshot of your items and its serial no. In a few days you will recieve a RMS email. Then you need to pack the item, call the Fedex no. for a pick up. In a week time, you will get your replacement.
All the shippings are paid by Nvidia.

Hmm you can make use of the google assistant to turn off the tv, link to smart home system and use voice command to control your lightings, fans, aircon, etc.
Install emulators to play ps1, snes, sega, neo geo games
Install IPTV app to watch overseas channels.
Install spotify app to listen to music.
Install internet radio app to have better quality radio.
Install chrome for web browsing and stream k drama
Install popcorn app for movie watching.

There is endless capability of the nvidia shield. Its how you plan to use it only. And how intense your research is.
Cheers!

no. antenna cannot be attached to the shield.
why go thru the trouble? does your tv have a dvbt2 tuner?
if so, just use hdmi 1 for shield tv and hdmi 2 for local fta. get a regular antenna or maybe try the charger trick on youtube for the local fta.

Maybe you may want to try out broadlink Rm mini. You can use the RM mini to control your aircon and ir remote devices like fans via google assistant on nvidia shield.

I have TerrariumTV and STBemu loaded on it. Really easy to setup and a breeze to use. Any other apps similar like these that are strongly recommended by people here? TIA :D
