Hi everyone, says I would like to invest 20k. Currently holding ocbc 360 account. I currently do not have bills to pay. Will it be better to put my money in 360 and earn its 1.2% p.a credit salary scheme or will it be a better idea to take out the money and invest in some fixed deposit or other investment scheme? Greatly Appreciate if anyone can give me some assistance on this!

Depending on your salary credit level, DBS Multiplier could work better for you; above 10k per month gets you 1.28%. The more the amount, the higher the interest, go check out their interest rate table.

But otherwise, yes I think OCBC would suit better.

Thanks for the suggestion! But unfortunately I do not have 7.5k transaction every month to qualify for the better interest rate in DBS. I just started working and my salary only about 3k odds per month. I have checked most fixed deposit and they only provide around 1%-1.25% p.a. In this case, will it be better if I just continue to keep the 20k in my ocbc 360 account to gain the 1.2% salary credit interest or will there be better option out there? Do correct me if I'm wrong in any assumption! Thanks in advance!

Yes, ocbc 360 still probably the best option. But if you think rates are still going to be low for 2-3 y ears, should consider Singapore Savings Bonds.. after 1st year of ~1%pa, coupons rise to around 1.5-1.8%.

mind sharing where you going to park your $ next?

stanchart, the cc itself no rebates but the a/c spend rebates are decent to me.

don't like maybank cos the giro arrangements don't suit me,
don't like BOC cos tiong bank, dunno if cs is good,
don't like UOB's tier system on the cc. haha.

For uob can also use yolo card (or lady's card) to meet the card spend for bonus interest.

not really interested in both cards or the one a/c haha, just personal preference. and $50 for each quart is quite little also, as i won't hit $1000. for some reason, i've never had any uob cc over the years. any particularly good features/benefits for those uob cc in your case?

only stupid thing about sc bonu$aver cc is no contactless payment feature! and not forgetting my salary can't be uob also haha, don't ask why.

The interest rates received today follow the old rates right? Next month interest rate then follow the new rates?
