Hi OCBC team,

My finance team uses DBS FAST to transfer my salary into my OCBC account. It is showing up as Payment/Transfer and Salary is mentioned in the description.

However, OCBC do not recognise this as a Salary deposit. Are there no flexibility on your end to pick up "Salary" from the description as well ? Is FAST not considered as a mean of Salary Payment and strictly GIRO-Salary for payment ?

It is very difficult for us as employee to change the way Finance works. Hope your team can be more flexible in this aspect

I doubt you can win this appeal.

It must be GIRO salary from a company, all the others have same condition - One account, BonusSaver, SaveUp, Smartsaver etc.
This is the only sure way to determine that inward remittance is indeed a Salary amount.
Else, anyone can just FAST over ( or even self GIRO over ) and put remarks as Salary.

Your finance team need to do the GIRO , don't they do it for wages of all employed staff ? If not, too bad..

Hi andrewkb,

To be eligible for the Salary Credit bonus, you will have to credit at least $2000 salary via GIRO.

The transaction must appear as "GIRO-SALARY".

For "GIRO-IBG" cases, the following descriptions - STS SAL, STS PYT, PAYROLL , SALARY, SAL or WAGE, will be eligible for the bonus interest.

You may wish to ask your employer to check with the corporate banker/vendor as to how to go about setting up the salary crediting.

Dear OCBC bank

My total spend for last month had shown less than $500 because 2 transactions were made late yesterday, 31st of May, before 2359hrs. I suspect now these 2 transactions will only appear in the June's statement. So please dont tell me OCBC is going to be like another bank, that base the credit card spendings on posting dates rather than transaction dates, which then means i will not qualify for May's card spend bonus interest.

Don't need to suspect, 100% posted as June transaction. You expect merchant to close ur transaction like immediately after you spent :s8:

Call in to OCBC and humbly beg for allowance. If doesn't work, suck thumb and take it as a lesson learnt

Hi Cumzilla,

Only transactions with posting date within the calendar month will count towards the 360 account's Credit Card Spending interest bonus. This information may be found in the T&Cs - https://www.ocbc.com/assets/pdf/accounts/360-account-terms-and-conditions.pdf

We encourage our customers to make any big purchases earlier in the month to avoid missing out on the interest bonus. Some merchants may take up to 7 days to post a transaction.

You have 1 whole month to plan your spending. Why wait till last day?

It is the norm for banks to base the spending on posted transaction.

Hi kinhuan,

Thank you for your question.

For billing organizations that are not in the list, you may approach the organization to enquire on how to set up GIRO payments.

They would most probably require for you to fill up a form, and you would just have to fill it up and provide your 360 Account number as well.

Hi OCBC Bank,

I clicked the OCBC bank website's Login and open new tab. When I log in my OCBC IB yesterday after I enter my username and pin I got a CAPTCHA asking for text. Then I was told my credentials not correct.

Is CAPTCHA implemented in OCBC IB or I got fished?

Users beware of strict charges

Ito all, not worth dealing with OCBC bank at all.
Just cancelled my credit cards with them on both 365 as well as the NTUC card.
Was late by a Couple of days due to travels in last 2 months and was charged $200 per card.
The interest gained was nowhere what I paid in late fees to them. ;-(
Requested review but the call centre was not helpful at all.

Guess it's my fault for spending so much with them and not paying on time.

The other banks I have are more sympathetic onwards me and waived it without questions.

Users beware and just wanted to share...
