Hi bumdssa,

For the examples you've listed: Bill payments to merchants, EZLInk top ups and Paywave transactions; they are considered as part of the $500 spending requirement to earn you the 360 bonus interest.

Hi, OCBC, I have two specific questions to ask. There is nothing confidential and need not be in private message.

For a sum that is transferred out of an ocbc account on 9th Aug, the transaction date is today, the value date is tomorrow.

1. Is the ADB and interest
based on the transaction date or the value date?

2. Is the ADB and fall below fee
based on the transaction date or the value date?

I am asking because I previously had average daily balance at/above the minimal balance based on value date, but a fall below fee was still applied, which I presumed is based on transaction date then, which then should translate the same on given interest too. Or could it be the following....

3. ADB is inclusive of the deduction based on the transaction date, and incoming funds is based on the value date.

Please help us understand the above. Thanks.

Hi OCBC,

Got a question. If I pay 1 Starhub mobile bill, and another Starhub broadband bill, does it consider as 1 or 2 unique bills? Since both bills are different only the mobile bill is from my Starhub account; broadband bill is from my dad's. Or does "unique" simply means company or something?

Thanks!

Should be considered 2 unique bills as there are 2 different account number.

Hi bjornng,

As long as the bill reference number is different, it will be counted as 2 unique bills.

Hi mdax23,

1. Topping up of your SIM card with your 365 credit card will count towards the bonus interest for the 360 account.

For more information on the Credit Card Spend bonus, you could refer to
http://www.ocbc.com/personal-banking/accounts/360-account-faq.html#credit-card.

2. Credit card transactions are identified by their Merchant Code Categorisation (MCC), and different tier of rebates are given based on the MCC.

In the case of prepaid accounts, you should be entitled to 0.3% rebate. Prepaid accounts are excluded from the 3% online rebates on your OCBC 365 Card (this information can be found in the T&Cs).

Should you have any further queries, please feel free to drop us a PM.

I believe this answer addresses my question on the OCBC 365 thread. You may like to repeat the answer there to clarify any misunderstanding.

Dear all, I had got the phone call reply from ocbc CSO, confirming that everything is based on value date IS NOT TRUE, contrary to the ocbc reply here.

Any withdrawal from ocbc account will reduce the ADB on the transaction date, and hence affect the interest and may cost a fall below fee. This is not based on value date.

If you have 3500 on 1/8 which you transferred 500 out on 1/8 and if the value date is 3/8. Your daily balance on 1/8 and 2/8 is 3000 per day, and not 3500. This is based on transaction date (1/8) and not based on value date (3/8).

Any incoming funds will be based on value date. This part is true.

These points are important to know, because ocbc had the poorest cut off timing or is the one and only one with such poor cut off timing, to the best of my knowledge. This lead to time constrain for people who are not free to do transactions before 9-10pm. For most banks, FAST transfers between 9-11+ pm of weekdays will be posted on the same day and not the next working day.

Hi, OCBC, I have two specific questions to ask. There is nothing confidential and need not be in private message.
