Hi OCBC,
My coy is also using SCB and I have actually liaised with SCB side and they have already set the code to SALARY but OCBC is still recognizing it as GIRO-IBG. Some of my staff using DBS has feedback to me it states MISC-SALARY so what else can I do to show GIRO-SALARY?

Hi there,

Thank you for checking with your HR department on this. It depends on how SCB indicates this transaction in the GIRO payroll system as well.

Your HR unit may instruct SCB to indicate as Salary Credit, but SCB may employ a different statement description.

Not sure if this has been answered,

Why isn't purchases made via google wallet not reflected on my cc transaction?
Does this mean these transactions don't count towards the $400?

friends said this was good, saw the actual thing.

wah piang eh, singaporeans really so gian png, few % only, so much effort.

the opportunity cost is at least a few times more.

jiak bak bo sai pang.

Have to agree with many here. Most of us have other investments and this is a good account to earn a better return on our emergency funds or short term cash. Ur 'Bo Sai pang' remark is not very kind.

积少成多 is true. Just to share a famous quote from one of our founding fathers:

"There is no real secret about the way in which most nations and individuals grow rich. They must save a good part of their income wisely and profitably invested. The more you save and the more wisely you invest, the faster you get rich."

It's abt saving and investing wisely.

Cheers!

Hi,
Thanks for your reply. I am actually handling the payroll. Is there a certain particular code to follow so that I can instruct my bank?

no leh, my current limit is dropped by the amount i paid. so I believe the transaction went through

the updating of the transaction of internet banking is always 1 or 2 days late. eg your limit is 10000,
you spend 1000 on monday.
ibanking will show credit limit 10000 with no transaction on monday.
ibanking will show credit limit 9000 with no transaction on tue
ibanking will show credit limit 9000 with 1000 expenditure on wed.

the days may differ by one or two days due to the posting date, but it is always in the sequence.

Hi there,

There may be a certain turnaround time for Google Wallet to charge your purchase to your card. You may want to confirm the mechanics with Google.

Any charge to your card, will have to posted to your card account before it can be eligible as part of the $400 spend.

Hope this helps!

Hi there,

I'm afraid we can't comment on other Bank's practices of their GIRO payroll systems.

Hi there,

There is a cut-off time for the Pay Any Card feature. All payment requests made after 9.30pm or on a non-business day will be considered as the next working day's payment.

And payments made before 9.30pm will be credited to the beneficiary card within 2 working days.

Hope this helps!

thank you.

suggestion: add in the function to allow users to view the list of giro linked via internet banking? since we can add giro online, don't see why we can't view the list of giro linked.

Hi, how does interest gets accrued? By which day of the month must I spend the 400 dollars, pay the 3 utilities bills and credit my salary?

I believe it is the calendar month... I would like to know this as well.

Shereen from OCBC could reply?

This ocbc 360 account is very impressive. For years, i have not kept much funds with ocbc or held any ocbc credit cards. 360 changes all that.

Opened an account, informed HR about it, paid 3 bills, and now awaiting the approval of a new ocbc card. Ever since ocbc wanted to charge me $30 for a visa Robinson card, i cancelled it, stopped patronising Robinsons, and held no ocbc credit cards.

Marketing gimmick or not, 2.05 % pa for 50k now ( salary and 3 bills) beats anything flat. Next month, when my new credit card is ready, it will be 3.05%!

Point is to keep just $50k in 360 to earn $127 interest per month. Other funds to be deposited elsewhere, such as CIMB 0.8%pa, or standard charted Dash 1% pa till 31 Aug.

I should add that for the past few months, DBS capitacard was my fav. Its free parking entices me. Now, it is time to retire Capitacard.

Whoever designed or reinvented 360 is certainly doing a great done. I tried to look around for a similar account like 360. The closest is dbs multiplier acc with 4 conditions. Even fufilling 4 conditions only earn 2.08%.

They say Banks are fair-weather friends; i say i am a fair-weather client.
