Hi there,

As long as you are a new OCBC Credit Cardmember who has applied & card was approved during the promotion period, you should be eligible for the sign up promotion.

Can you share your Bank registered contact number via private message, so that we can investigate further?

Hi,

It is indicated on the card's website (https://www.ocbc.com/personal-bankin...es-n-card.html), under merchant promotions, that all purchases through Expedia will qualify for 8mpd, as long as purchases are made through the link and tickets are bought with Participating Airlines. Upon clicking the link (https://www.expedia.com.sg/ocbc90n), it is clearly stated at the top that we can earn 8mpd with purchases through Expedia. My purchases were made through this link and with Qatar Airways, one of the listed Participating Airlines. Please clarify.

Hi nniicckkyy,

Thank you for the clarification.

Booking of Qatar Airway tickets via the dedicated link with Expedia will be awarded 8 Travel$ for every S$1 spend.

Can you drop us a private message with your Bank registered contact number? We will arrange for our service executive to call & assist you.

Lol, first time got this issue of spending under exclusion list. Called the OCBC call center, apparently, my spending is under MCC 5199, nondurable goods. So according to wiki, nondurable goods = goods that last less than 3 years. So this may consist of many things like fruit, even packet drinks that I buy from supermarket is <3 years before expiry. Potentially pretty wide category, by this definition.

Where did you spend your money? or you mean nothing earned with MCC 5199?

No rewards earned with MCC 5199 as per T&Cs. For some office expense on some non-durable item (which has consistently earned from other cards). I don't think anyone else here will be buying their products.

My point was that this category potentially encompass a wide area, which we would not be sure until charged. With so many items under "nondurable goods", as per wiki definition. Will have to check MCC after charging.

Hi OCBC,

Recently I sent an enquiry via your ibanking portal to check on the sign up bonus for new credit card applicant to bank.

It was shocking to hear from the reply that only clicking on the specific banner on the product page then I would be eligible for the $50 & 7000 miles (if spend 5k in 3mths).

As it wasn't stated anywhere in the product page that one can only receive sign-up bonus only if they done it that way. It will be unfair for applicants like us that did directly sign up from your ibanking website/app and I feel that the bank should be fair about it and acknowledge that we are indeed also entitle for the promotion.

Hope that the bank understands.

Hi there,

We apologise for the misinformation provided by our service executive. The promotion is not restricted to just application made via our website. Application via Internet Banking / branches / credit card sale staff will be eligible as well.

Hi OCBC,
Does payment to CFA Institute qualify for 4 miles per dollar as posted in foreign currency transaction (USD)?

Hey there

As long as the transaction is posted to your card account in foreign currency, and does not fall within one of these categories, we will award the 4 Travel$

- Charitable/ religious organisations (MCC: 8398, 8661)
- Cleaning, maintenance and janitorial services (MCC: 7349)
- Real estate agents and managers (MCC: 6513)
- Financial transactions e.g. money transfer, money order, traveller cheques etc
- Charges, fees and other costs payable to any government institutions and services
- Payments to GE GI and NTUC Income (insurance)
- Top up prepaid accounts, e.g. EZ-Link, NETS FlashPay, YouTrip, Grab-pay top up etc

Just receive e-statement but there's no $50 credit? Based on the TnC is $50 credit upon approval so rightfully i should see this in my statement? But it's not reflected. Why ah? Have no issues with other banks that promise credit for such sign-up promotions.

The Travel$ is correct though lol.

Jialat leh. Still thinking of signing Premier Banking.

Hi OCBC,

how does OCBC define when the transaction is "posted"?

It seems to me that the transaction would not appear in the transaction history when charged, and only posted here after a few days. When it appears, does it count as "posted"?
I'm asking this as your T&C states that
9. With the exception of spend at Agoda via www.agoda.com/ocbc90n, baseline and bonus Travel$ will be credited to your account when the transaction is posted.

I see the transaction, but do not see the rewards (ie the rewards are given the next day and a violation of your T&C, if my definition of "transaction is posted" is correct).

I saw the terms and conditions says "Education" transaction is excluded, may I know the outside tuition center is considered as "Education" or not?
