Good afternoon all!

Hope everyone’s enjoying their lunches =)

Just here to shoot off a few answers to some queries that came up over the weekend.

1. When will the points be credited?

There’s 2 parts to the crediting
1x OCBC$ will be credited when the transaction is posted. The remaining 9 OCBC$ will be credited by the end of the following month

2. Taobao & Shopee & Gain City

Purchases done with Taobao & Shopee & Gain CIty will earn you 10x OCBC$. But only if they’re spent within the eligible categories. So yes, specific items you purchase will be categorised accordingly.

Labtop purchases will earn you 10xOCBC$, but not books I'm afraid.


3. Insurance Premiums

As insurance premiums do not fall into any of the eligible categories, those transactions will earn you 1x OCBC$

Just to remind everyone again, here are the eligible categories:

• Departmental stores
• Bags
• Clothes
• Shoes
• Electronics

And these are some examples of common merchants that qualifies for 10X OCBC$ in the eligible categories from 1 June 2017.

i am curious about ikea. if i were to buy a sofa from ikea, i believe i should be getting 10x right?

the silly thing about the bonus points is that, the monthly crediting of bonus point is not a single txn wch appears under the rewards section of ibanking. it is silently added into the points tally.

you got to manually calculate using the previous spending of the previous mth x9. best time to check is by end of the next month of spending as they are credited by then.

think ikea fall under department store so anything from ikea should be eligible for 10x points. There is even ads at ikea counter that shown the card is eligible for 10x points. A couple of months ago there was even road show at ikea specifically to promote this card.

It depends on the MCC. Eg Think Ikea restaurant is under dining MCC, not eligible for 10x points.

Sorry for a noob question, when does titanium OCBC$ expires? Is it 5 years like Citibank or never expires?

Citibank just revised their monthly capped at 10,000 rewards point.

Thinking of switching to this to gain point since it’s capped at 120k yearly still.

Hi all,

The Merchant Category Code (MCC) of Ikea is classified as furniture/home furnishing, thus not in the eligible MCC. However we understand in addition to furniture, and food, that they do sell some items in the electronic categories such as table lights, lamps , fans. Thus if you have bought items in the eligible categories from Ikea, we will be availing the 10 OCBC$.

The eligible categories are:

• Departmental stores
• Bags
• Clothes
• Shoes
• Electronics

Hi Kashanai,

All OCBC$ earned will expire on the last day of the 24th calendar month following the relevant calendar month such OCBC$ was earned.
For example, if you have earned OCBC$ in the month of July 2015, these rewards points will expire on the last day of July 2017.
