odyssey g9 pre-orders

Hey guys,

Is there anyone else out there that has ordered an odyssey g9 and is nervously waiting today since official samsung site said pre orders would be fulfilled today? Since they are now out of stock everywhere i'm not sure if it's cause of demand or all the quality control issues...

U should ask for a return. Theres alot of flickering issues based on reviews.

If you read the fineprints properly, it states that you receive your order from 05 Aug, not on 05 Aug.

Yes I interpret "from" as meaning SOME people are going to have their units shipped out today, hence the post to see if anyone is actually getting anything or it is just being delayed.

I have pre-order . Call up Harvey Norman yesterday and they have say stock is still not here. No specific date for the stock to arrive. Not sure why too. Call up Samsung and both Harvey Norman . None of them willing to give any information regarding any info regarding about g9 . Zzz

Got a response from samsung online store yesterday, my pre-order has apparently been passed to the delivery partner and I have to wait for them to contact me to schedule delivery, order tracking on the website has been updated to "Preparing order" so we shall see..

G9 Exchange Already

Well I received my G9 yesterday and it has not gone well. ! always on dead pixel, runs massively hot, looks like it was manufacturing on a farm ( Dirt all over it, screen debris & dirt and scratch), and I have about a 4 cm area on top left where the light is leaking through from the plastic coming off (same as other reviews I saw).

I have been documenting each issue and sending the info to Samsung Singapore. Revision is FA01 so same as most people received.

It is going to be hard to send it back as it is really a great piece of engineering. The curve is perfect and I was surprised the screen was not bigger (which is just right).

Anyone who gets theirs, please let me know if there is a different revision out there. I will send some updates on the return process.

P.S. I bought it from the online Samsung Singapore website.

Damn that is unfortunate. I received mine on the 12th, it had a bright spot on the right side of the screen due to pressure I'm assuming but when i turned it on the next morning it was gone and has been since. Other than that I guess I was lucky in the panel lottery, no issues with light leak, flicker, dead pixels etc. You can feel the heat if you place your hand next to the screen but I always have aircon on anyway so not an issue for me.

5140 x 1440 @ 240hz (with and without adaptive sync) does have some weird issues in certain games i.e stretching/compressing but I think that is more due to developer support then it is the panel itself e.g. valorant will stretch the picture if i go fullscreen/fullscreen window but will be normal when I make it windowed. If set to 120hz there are no clashes with software at all and somehow more resolution options become available in games but I got this for 240hz so I just find ways to force the issue xD.

I've still kept the massive box around though just incase cause I've read about people having issues after a couple of weeks so fingers crossed.

Samsung reps came to my place and checked out the monitor. They said they replace with new one from new batch coming in mid Sept and I can keep the one I have until then. Great service and looking forward to the new G9 arrival.

As a note, the monitor works fine at 240/120/60hz. HDR looks good for a VA panel and Freesync Premium at 240hz behaves. The PBP works for my PC and 2019 Macbook Pro. Shame it only supports 60hz but hoping to create a custom resolution as some CRG9 owners to get 100hz. Small issue with Macbook and Pink screen but I replaced my adapter and all is good now.

Unfortunately pbp is 60hz because of the monitor specification. Seems they changed if for the G9 unlike the 100hz on the CRG9. I still have not figure out how to make a custom resolution work with my Radeon 570xt. I will take any suggestions.

I was able to get pbp to actually work at 120 & 144 hz but when I do that the color depth drops to 6-bit. Not sure why! Will keep trying.
