I've just tried running titanium backup on my Find 7a and it is working fine. For verifying if you device is rooted, go to the app "SuperSU" and run it. If you can't see the app or it gives an error, then you are not rooted.

I can see the SuperSU app but when I open Titanium backup it keep prompting me to tick USB debugging which I cannot locate it in the phone.

I thought after rooting the ColorOS version will be 2.0 but it is still the same, also what is the benefit after rooting?

Sorry as I not very familiar with it.

The deep saving mode in version 2 is better than 1.2.1i in conserve power.
Another plus point, the UI is much more refine...

but deep saving mode sacrifices a lot of functionality which handicaps the phone.

As for UI, it's subjective to personal pref.

Anybody had any success with titanium backup on colour os?

yes. it works on the latest 1.2.1 but needs some workaround and tinkering with permissions.. can't remember where i saw the workaround though.. but i tried it myself and it worked.

4) I sold my 7a for 500, but this is a month back. I know a guy who sold it for 350 yesterday

wow, that's just 50 bucks above half price.. and the phone is less than 2 mths since it's launched..

F7a is a flagship spec with a mid phone range price.
Trade in price follows price range.

Due to brandings, it could reduce a lot.
Sony had the same issue...

if want high value, goes apple.
even samsung also drop drastic

Does Oppo thinks they can simply springboard their branding, by splurging on a >$50k rent/month flagship store at Suntec, with a couple of phone models?

With China phones supporting LTE, I think the days for Korean phones are numbered.
Previously one deterrent was lack of 4G support.

Not an OPPO owner yet but just got the Oneplus and it rocks!!

wow bro, if u don't know where USB debugging is on the phone, u sure u want to root and play with Titanium Backup? U can potentially do a lot of damage to your phone u know?

Even though u can easily recover most mistakes by doing factory reset or even reflashing the rom, u should read up more.

USB debugging is in the Dev options page. Benefit of rooting is like having admin rights on yr pc.

Phone prices may drop due to more brands entering local market like xiaomi and oppo. Currently not possible to get a phone with 2k display, 801 snapgradon at S$650 with local warranty some more. Xiaomi brings onboard decent phone on a budget.
