There is some difference between 1.1 and 1.2.

My macbook was a white elephant until recently after the release of iPad Pro. Wanted to buy the iPad Pro but decided to test my macbook 1.3ghz,512Gb first. Realised how portable this machine is. :)
Decided not to get the iPad Pro. :D

ditto. was so tempted when i saw the iPad pro. but i told myself to keep using the Rmb and just loving it. light and portable. maybe the iOS in the iPad pro is a let down for me. imho

I have both the iPad Pro and 12" rMBP. They are different beasts that perform different functions, but the 12" rMBP is significantly more portable (never thought I'd say that of an iPad versus a MacBook).

The iPad Pro only really shines when you use it with the Apple Pencil. Otherwise even with a keyboard it doesn't run full OS X, which limits its productivity use cases.

Retina MacBook is definitely more portable and easy to carry around with full functionality that you can do anything on it.

Looking forward to buy the 2nd gen which I believe it will definitely have significant improvement over first gen.

well see. i think they can't refresh all in one go? macair, rmb and rmb pro.

Possible also given apple style. Apple has never failed to bring surprised to consumer at all. This kind of MacBook is a big big surprise for 2015 already.

I just got the 512 version as secondary laptop for daily carry and traveling. Im using it most for email (MS Office 2016), browsing (Chrome), remote desktop (LogMeIn Rescue), Parallels (Windows 8)

I'm still on Yosemite as some of my work application is not yet compatible with El Capitan.

Installed Steam and had no issue playing CS: GO for an hour. I also installed League of Legends NA, only had one issue which is not related to the laptop since the server si in US ping is always at 200+ that's it keeps lagging so I decided to uninstall it.

Installed Bluestack and played some android games with no issue.

I also tried playing Starcraft LOTV so far so good.

I'm charging my macbook using my 5 port desktop charger for my mobile phone and tablet, I just bought a S$19 USB to USB-C Cable, with this cable I can also charge my macbook using my 20k mAh powerbank charging is on the slow slide even on 2.1 output but its better than nothing for emergency cases that I need to access my mac.

For Extra ports I have the Juiced adapter which I used for my Microsoft Surface Pro 3, it comes with 2 usb 3.0 SD and Micro SD card reader. there's a USB-C version.

Nice review... Hows the temperature when gaming? Planning to return my air11 for this coz a bit jealous of the retina display...
Planning to bootcamp it and install win10... I will use it for photoshop..lightroom and light gaming.... Like ragnarok and dota2... Do u think it Base model can handle it?

air is not a worthwhile buy unless price is really super super important factor for u. else the extra paid for rMBP 13-inch or rMB 12-inch will be better. Given the nicer force touchpad and retina display.

once you get used to retina display, u can never look back at those non retina display on air at all.

think either rMBP 13-inch and rMB 12-inch can meet you needs.

just managed to hoot a 256gb gold yesterday with a bro at $1550 (brand new singtel set)

installed boot camp windows 10, works perfectly, and the battery life is crazily good (working with Microsoft edge, chrome will kill the battery). Been using it for 1 hour 20 minutes, battery dropped 13%, just like a iPad but with full windows 10 functions.

btw, i'm running light duties, emails/ office/ surfing web/ streaming video.

just my 2 cents, good buy!

thanks bro for the info, am a keen win 10 user hehe, but from multiple sources including yours, the macbook 2015 is doing real great in battery life with windows, gonna go ahead with the 256 gb heheh

have a good weekend and thanks again!
