Maybe the bronze in actual product will be nicer den those leaks. However if the front frame is still white, I guess most will go for black already.

Question guys - in previous years was it possible to pre-order the iphone on Apple website, or at least order it on launch day?

I've always bought through telcos, but this time round I am on a SIM-only plan so buying direct from Apple.

Yes. you can.

there will be 2 dates. Open-for-order date & Launch date.

all subjected to stocks availability. It just liked buying any Apple products from their website.

to be honest, with the limited supply. and how close we are to China. I got a feeling we might not be part of the launch countries.

GLHF.

Thanks. How did it work in past years? Do they announce the date/time when they start taking orders?

Date yes.

Time wise. i think 11AM~12PM you can start refreshing the store le. And when you see that the store is down for updates, can prepare your credit card le :s13:

actually the exact timing I also don't remember le. My last iPhone purchase was done at around 3PM.

Though I never bought at launch date or pre-order stage... But I think there are few methods.

1 - When Apple says buy on Pre-Order date, go click and buy (like earlier bro said normally it happen after the Store is closed). and it likely will shipped within 1~2 weeks.

2 - When Apple mentioned a launch date, you go to Apple Orchard Store 1 day before launch date and start queuing at 12pm..

I think with the Apple Store now in Singapore, it will be another spot where people go queue for iPhone.

From my experience during the iPhone 7 launch in the Apple Store at Sydney and when the pre-order happened in Singapore.

At the Apple Store, there will be 2 queues. One is for walk-in (usually those who queue for days and another is for those who have ordered online.

Those who ordered online, I believe, can choose for pick up or have it delivered, on launch day.

The pre-order should happen on the same week Friday at 1500 hrs (0000 PDT, San Francisco time) unless stated otherwise. That is when we can order the iPhone and have it delivered or picked up by next week Friday (launch day), unless it gets sold out within the first few seconds or minutes.

However all of which, is still subject to change from Apple.

The pre-orders for iPhone 7 wasn't that great. Jet Black models weren't even available I think even for those who got access to the online store just when the pre-order went up. The 7+ models were hard to get too. If I'm not wrong, the Black models also got delayed shipment within 20 minutes?

Hope the upcoming pre-orders will be a much more smooth experience.

Also depending on manufacturing process and stock marketing.. Not upgrading this year as pricing is higher each year.

I foresee that the iPhone 8's pre-order/stocks availability will be even worse than the 7/7 Plus, given that the 8 is also completely re-designed from the current 7.
