My MT2A been serving me for around 6mths so far ok. P20 only 2 days so far still ok. i think is see heng suay. All brands no matter how atas sure got lemon sets. But 1 in 10 is quite high.
Sometime i think it's worth to pay abit more and get from local retailers for a peace of mind. At least it's covered under warranty. My P20 has no warranty since banggood is not an authorised dealer for nitecore. I'm taking a risk for the saving for $30+.
Yeah, I'm with the idea that nothing is perfect and that things can happen which don't usually stem from anything the user has done (lemons/manufacturing defects, dead-defective-on-arrival sets, etc).
With regards to opting to purchase from unauthorised dealers or an official distributor/retailer; each has its own set of pros and cons:
Unauthorised dealer:
- Item is usually priced cheaper.
- However, it isn't usually covered by warranty.
- Depending on where the item is located, the shipping time and wait can often be dreadful if the dealer/website is based overseas and doesn't offer registered/insured shipping of the item (you know, the dreaded waiting or cat-and-mouse game with the folks at the post office).
- Shipping costs may also cost quite a lot (again, depending on where the item is shipped from).
Official distributor/retailer:
- Item tends to be on the pricier side; and warranty is included, so you'll have piece of mind in the event that anything is wrong with the item.
- Also, you'll tend to have a feel of the item if you visit the retail store before you commit to buying.
- Plus, you'll get the item there and then - instant satisfaction.
Again,
it all boils down to each individuals' decision-weighing and risk-taking. Oh, and I believe that the above-mentioned list of pros and cons also apply to almost any other consumer products - from shoes to washing machines.
I own 3 nitecore lights. All no problems.
I guess you're one of the fortunate ones who have had no issues with your lights. Good for you!
Don't mind if I ask; where did you get your lights from?
