i'd like to buy a wheelset..

with red hubs..and maybe mavic 717 or syncros white rims..with dt spokes..

budget must must not exceed $500..

any hubs to intro?

or is the mavic crossride a good one altogether?

i am also thinking..how much will a brand new 717 with xt hubs and spokes cost?

where will be a gd place and cheap place to buy these wheels?

If u jump jump, then go for syncros, if not get the 717

To me, I think crossride very good for the price (If u buy from CRC), but alot of people think otherwise.

Currently what I have in mind is, Panaracer Tserv 1.75" (I heard that Panaracer distorts its sizing and it's actually smaller than the stated size)

Would a 1.75" reduce my rolling resistance significantly as compared to my 2.0 knobby tires?

I hoping to feel a difference after changing to slicks...

Definitely a difference but don't expect too much.

i don't think i will be going for competition. if i wanna get a hybrid . my MTB must be hard tail + will be still heavier in whatever way. which is a no-no for me in mtbiking. how ah? my MTB max speed is only 51km/h. i wanna go higher to maybe 70 , possible to do it with a road bike? advisable to get a road bike for a person like me?

can maintain about 5km. then tired already. need a little of downhill la. LOL :S

CRC doesn't allow shipment of mavic stuff outside Europe. Pity, it's like $250 there and $300+ here.

Wheelset wise, xc717 are grossly overpriced... suggest u go for sun ringle instead

Your rolling resistance will be significantly reduced

But so would your cornering and confidence ><

Another good advantage of slicks is that they are lighter than knobbies... by quite a fair bit

Back then when i first started cycling, which was like 10 years ago, I don't remember Singapore having so many Roadies. Its logical since cycling was so popular a sport. With the recent Runway Cycles, triathlons and Osim bicycle races, one can really see the sudden influx of roadies especially on saturday or sunday mornings...I just have to look out my window early in the morning to see the frequent shades of neon coloured jerseys zipping past tanjong rhu...I myself started of with XC and then moved on to DH but I'm yearning for a roadie myself....Speed is thrilling!

U happy can liao. There is no must or do. Blinking is just try to get the attention of motorist since yr bicycle is so small. Of cos, don't over do it and use those super flashy blinking mode.

blinking to attract attention... always on, hmmm i almost never use it lol

Check your tire sidewalls and go by the manufacturer settings.
