I think iPhone 6's 5.5" will become a top seller again!

The 5.5" allows Apple to compete with Android's big screen phone. :)

The 4.7" will be just so so...

There is only one iOS phone while there are many Andriod phones. Samsung is too confident with not much changes from S4 to S5. The galaxy family is getting monotonous too.

Now Apple just need to come out one that has a curve back like the iPod and it will sell.

Yup another of those "cheap" must win idea.

it's usually inevitable for mass market products, as competition heats up, prices will have to come down. It's not about cheap or expensive but about who can build the best product at the cheapest possible price.

Of course if there's one maker, then it'd not be true. But when different players enter the market, and build quality products more affordably, the consumer ultimately wins.

However, i don't see Apple compromising profits for market share. They will still build the best phones that rival the premium phones of their competitors. And they won't be building low end phones for sure. But as premium as it is, prices have to eventually come down as competition get stiffer. I'm not saying it becomes cheap, but will have to be lower.

Macs have gone this path too, being previously much more expensive. And Macs are still great.

btw, mods are pretty strict here. My irrelevant thread received a warning and was moved to Online Feedback. So we all better watch our language. It's much stricter compared to edmw.

I totally have no qualms about how Apple is able to continue make good products. However as an innovator personal and also one whom have spend his entire career in the technological arena, I have great respect for intellectual property and I truly understand why there is a need to do so. I will not condone some tom, dick and harry glaringly advocate some highly uneducated advice as if it is right out of the bible.

As far as my concern is, I don't see it is out of topic since it carries the notation about Apple and how innovation and creativity has been compromised. I appreciate your concern about the mod, we will see how it goes.

Tell you what Knight_Rider(or whatever it is), for the greater good of the community that work day and night for the intellectual property, I don't give a darn if you wanna give me your middle finger, chop it out on the board or stuff it up yourself.

Your notion that you are trying to help lower earning families achieve a low cost phone is plain a load of bull. It is certainly not a sin to purchase low cost phones from these messed up company that outright copy from the innovators, but essentially your words in a public forum like HWZ which is patronised by a lot of younger generations exactly twisted things around, as if they are some enlightenment, which in fact are nonsense down to the lowest moral level.

How people want to spend their money is certainly non of my business. How a dimwit that failed to understand and respect intellectual property, openly in the forum giving speeches or how ethically right about it is where I'm despising on. That person is exactly you and you only.

As a parent, I thought they would be wiser since they are not only of more experience but also hold great responsibility, besides providing the fundamental needs to the younger generations, also to instill proper knowledge to them. However good as a parent you may have done to provide your kid(s) with the material needs, you have score badly as a person of higher learning.

Not only have you as a parent in the public forum repeatedly using uncouth language, exhibiting a highly restricted vocabulary in expressing yourself, resorting to unsightly slang like "gong jiao way", but also a disgrace example to your kid(s). As such I feel disappointed in such parental. But those are your kid(s), so it's clearly non of my business. Except that this forum is also visited by young generations and such irresponsible behaviour of yours provided disgrace to the community.

Let me tell you something, I don't give a darn if this thread is started by you or someone else. The every fact that my career is in the realm of innovation and I have spend my entire career creating intellectual properties that I am proud of, I can feel for those developers working day and night to produce the fine merchandise that we are using today.

Hence I can promise you something:

I will spare no effort breathing down your neck in whichever form as I deem fit and in free times as I deem fit. I will continue such acts upon your pathetic calling, just like how I have hunt down those pathetic fellas like dogs, whom are advocating plagiarism by doing homework for students.

Clearly there will be no lack of short sighted people like you advocating such twisted reasons, as if they are inscription from the Quran. That wouldn't stop me from putting a stop to people like you.

Therefore I highly recommend you keep your twisted reasoning to yourself and keep quiet when I lecture you, so that you can get to keep your thread open. Either way I will continue this debate with you until to my satisfaction.

I hope what I have said so far get entrenched in your thick skull. You will really need to think twice about putting up a fight with me on this having your reasons are plain wrong. Xiaomi is a bane to the intellectual property and a curse to innovation and creativity in the world. I will give all my effort to promote such teachings in this forum and I will not stop criticising on people like you that give in to low cost products over the greater importance of intellectual property so that all our younger generations can continue to innovate for the better of mankind.

If you feel I'm just making empty talks, you can jolly well try me.

Why should I or anybody else gives a damm to what you do and what you think? Non of our concern if you are out of job tomorrow. Just goes to show you are too greedy that's all. Who says R&D must be handsomely rewarded? Can you show me black and white or you prefer RGB.

Another keybord warrior with unsound reasoning. I am posting ip6 rumors and you want to lecture me. Wow mods can we ban him so that we can have some peace here?

For the greater stupidity that holds within your thick skull, what do you know about innovation. You probably don't even have any to start with. My career is clearly none of your business, but people like you is indeed the greedy one, greedy for cheap stuffs. Are you in all these companies knowing the profit are not meant for future innovation ? What do you know about innovation ? Where does the ideas come from, who do you approach to get new ideas ? How do you collaborate with these people ? I know exactly because day in day out, I'm one of those people looking for great ideas and working with them going through certifications on their ideas.

So stuff your face into the toilet bowl and wash up your brain. If you know nuts about this, then don't talk like you know how the money are spend in innovation centres.

You want the black and whites ? Spend some effort respecting intellectual properties, respecting the creativity and respect the innovation and efforts of people who created them before you even start asking me about the black and whites. You have no rights at the moment to demand for them, you can't even get the concepts right

Xiaomi is a bane to the intellectual property and a curse to innovation and creativity in the world.

Historically though, Microsoft copied Apple OS. Zuckerberg ripped off ideas from his college mates to form Facebook. Samsung is a blatant Apple copycat. The lawsuits testify to that.

I'm not advocating copying but i think there have been companies who copied previously and carved their own niche eventually.

I don't think Xiaomi builds great products. It's just about the cheap price but I rather spend a bit more from the other more refined phone makers like Motorola and HTC. But i would also say it's still too early to say Xiaomi will eventually fail or succeed.

My belief is companies without strong fundamentals will eventually fail. There's no need to be overly concern on the threat to intellectual property. Remember, things that are good will stand the test of time. Look at Rolex. No amount of clones (Seiko, fakes etc) could put a slight dent to the brand. Your fears are unfounded.

Lets take a closer look at this intellectual property issues. As much as I would like to recognise their validity, sometimes these companies took it too hard, took it too right down to details. So the on going fight between these companies while legitimate, we do have to take a stand back.

However no matter how you look at them, the value they have created to the world and the technological industry is innovative and creative from the whole cycle. As such, how Xiao Mi has done up with the tablet they are launching is of a totally different level.

The worst fact of all is IP protection in China is very poorly governed. Therefore these kind of companies are compromising the notion of innovation and creativity but can't be curb at all.

My fears whether XiaoMi will succeed or not doesn't concern me. If they fail, good for them, if they made it too bad for the community. Please understand where I'm coming from. I'm not fighting for Apple, not Samsung, not Microsoft and non of those companies out there.

I'm fighting for the educational value to respect IP. If you can have such one bloody suck up case that exactly tells the rest of the world how copying is something that can make it work, who is going to trust IP ? Who is going to continue innovate ? Why should there be a need since duplication is just as profitable.

If Xiao Mi has to die, it has to die with the correct education instill into the consumers. Xiao Mi wouldn't die with people don't fully understand the reason why they should patronise such evil company. They are not eating into the industry, they are eating into the values of our younger generations on how they should perceive and respect creation.

Technology are not art pieces, but still developers and innovators spend money and effort and went through all the dirt getting ventures and support from the commercial entities. If you value your own work, you should just value as much as other people's work. Failure to recognise that yourself is the first step on how others would failed to recognise it.

if this will to happen decades back, you probably wouldn't be holding an IPhone, or Samsung Galaxy or any such good quality phones in your hands, you could be just using a duplicated Nokia phone that looks like 3330.

As such I don't find my worries as unfounded. I may be an individual and can't do much stopping the less educated from committing the crime, but at least the forum, an open platform, allows me to give my 2 cents worth for believers that are confused to truly see the value behind this motion.

Look at the level of plagiarism!!!

Is this the kind of company we should support ? Is this the kind of plagiarism we should condone by even considering their product ?

Lose your cool in the forum, writing vulgarities. Lose a case and requesting for mods to ban me ? I wonder between vulgarities and going OOT, who is of greater reason to be banned.

If SPH governed HWZ that comprised mainly of intellectual properties in their corporate want to ban a user that support originality, and advocate creativity and innovation protection for the community get banned instead of a uncouth user that sprout vulgarities and encourage plagiarism, I wonder how SPH would like to address such an act at the educational level.
