Oh, the lady at HDB who handled my selection said that the key collection could take 4-6 months because the Key services department is swamped.

That is long. The first time they do rof some people get keys within like 3 months. Hope i still have units to select when my turn comes.

Wish you luck. I know the last week of waiting for me was nail-biting because of the sudden surge in interest for Sembawang. I think the lady was exaggerating just incase. The other times I went down to enquire, was told to expect the keys by July or 2-3 months after selection date.

Actually, blk 96 has its perks, even for those facing skyterrace.
1. Below view would have no roads and a newly build eco corridor park can be seen from the main windows.
2. Has the longest sky park but most people will visit blk 94 skypark due to close proximity to skyville and skyterrace
3. Blk 96 Will have the highest height due to its elevated land as you can check it online, as there is a slope upwards.
4. Blk 96, 3 rooms faces the skyterrace skypark, theres a big hole in the middle, so wind will come in.
5. Those getting unit 76 will have view of the forest too from the service balcony and the view from the balcony would be wider as compared to blk 94, unit 54.
6. Blk 96 is between queenstown and redhill Mrt. And with the park connector and slope downwards, it's easier to get to redhill mrt.
7. There will be further road works and building construction at blk 94 in the future thus there may be a period of noise and dust. If a building is built up north of blk 94 as indicated in URA master plan, wind and view might be impacted.
8.Due to the skyparks, blk 94 n 96 will be higher than blk 95, etc 20th floor of blk 95 isnt the same height as blk 96 20th floor.
9. blk 96 other lifts start at 25, in contrast to blk 94 18th floor. so lower floors that has the other batch of lifts will not benefit as the lifts are smaller.

These are a few of the reasons why blk 96 is good also though most are just small issues that some may not be too bothered. There are other perks but these will do.

Wow thanks for the detailed analysis!

The lady serving me said this too. I booked my flat (Nov ‘17 SBF) on 27 March, called in to ask to expedite key collection the week after that. Got an SMS last Friday to collect keys on 18 April.. If the flat is ready and you haven’t applied / are not eligible for the grants, there shouldn’t be any blockers.
