FOREX: Consolidation was the theme during the Asia-Pacific session, the greenback holding onto gains made yesterday following a relatively upbeat sounding Fed-Chair Yellen and expectations the Trump administration will shortly unveil a stimulative tax reform plan. Dollar-yen trekked higher from Y112.22 to Y112.54, the topside currently being capped by reported supply from Japanese Exporters, linked to half-year hedging requirements. Dollar-yen was last at Y112.40. Aussie-dollar carved out a $0.7971 to $0.7989 range, last at $0.7975. Meanwhile, Euro-dollar currently trades at $1.1787 and Cable at $1.3434, after trading in respective ranges of $1.1777 to $1.1795 and $1.3433 to $1.3461.

AUSSIE: For the last 40 minutes or so, the Aussie has been under some modest selling pressure, the rate edging lower from around $0.7980 to a base so far of $0.7962. Traders have reported Aussie-kiwi supply as the catalyst, with recently established longs positions being cut ahead of RBNZ Policy meeting tomorrow. Most economists expect the RBNZ to leave the OCR at 1.75% and reiterate that monetary policy will remain accommodative for a considerable period. Support is located at $0.7859 (Sep26 low), a break opens $0.7821 (38.2% fib retracement $0.7329-0.8125 rise). Aussie was last at $0.7866

North Korea

The North Korea issue is still on the back burner. Any extreme posturing by North Korea can cause the market to head for safe haven assets.

And Uncle Trump's mouth is not stopping. :s13:

Basket Of Currencies

Usd vs Jpy
both are safe haven, but which one more safe? :s22:

50/50. Good for hedging if you hold both. One down, the other will balance up.

My basket of currencies have about ¥160,000 (non leverage). If you hold a basket of major currencies then your daily portfolio net worth will not fluctuate much.

CAD
CHF
CNY (Onshore)
JPY
SGD
USD
