I think the market will be in a jittery and frothy state till Trump's inauguration date on 20/01/2017.

Can you guys still remember during late Nov/early Dec when USD/JPY continuously keep climbing north in one direction for like 7-10 trading days in a row? That period really no brainer trade. Just press BUY can liao. Hahaha no more such trend.

gold up USD down, but US dollar index still a bit green

If able to buy gold and USD at their strong support levels then every day no need to worry price up or down.

Must see a longer time frame. Unless you are talking about intraday trading only. Then yes you are correct.

Offload next week before Trump's inauguration date.
