I don't think Fred Perry was really intended to become some fashion statement as they were tennis shirts to begin with. Though I think people mistake their being expensive to be something geared toward fashion. Though I have 5 shirts of different styles, I do not really consider them premium. Though you have to admit that they add some unspoken points.

you buy clothes because of the brands or because they are nice quality and comfortable to wear ?

brands vs comfort ? or both ?

seems like for the 2 of you, Brand > Comfort judging from the reply.

haha buttie, moi hast been a long time supporter of the brand since its relaunch a few yrs back, withness countless official FP threads thrashed by mods, (tink tis current one ish v5 or v6 liaoz?)
i buy for both brand and comfort, MIJs and MIEs were my favs and what also draw me to it was its creative colourways and minimalist design with its ever famous laurels.

but like all great brands, it will def come to a pt in time when it reaches critical mass and thats when i decide that its time to venture on to something else while others jump on the bandwagon, i mean how does it feel if you took a walk dwn orchard rd and saw 2 to other bros wearing the exact same colourway polo tee as you?

maybe i cite another classic example, rast time PRL was rather popular in the begining with its classic small pony, it wasnt cheap either to begin with, but subsequently when they launched their big pony series, its like the streets are full with everyone wearing it.

moi notch criticizing the brand, its just moi 2 cents worth. :)

hm..as much as i hate wearing the same shirt as everyone else, but by wearing it 1st juz prove that my taste isn't that bad..thus others began to wear them.

haha totally agree wib chiu! :D

haha, it all boils down to striking a balance between affordability and brand, if $ ish not an issue, of course can buy 800-900 jeans from DH but is it realli worth it? everyone has their individual thresholds in terms of spending $$$ on certain types of fashion apparels and accessories.

as the saying goes, one man's meat ish another man's poison

gucci polo ish gootch :D

too bad, SG dunch hab outlets like in EU or US, gucci polos goes for like 20-50 pounds at their factory outlets hahaha.

I also moving away from FP unless they come out with something very nice...especially special design.

I have enough of FP since i got more than 14 of them.

So far the best buy should the dark blue to light blue design of polo.

Any brand design as nice as FP to recommend ?

hey guys i have a white fred perry shoe but am unsure of the ways to clean them.

was hesitant about soaking them all into water and then cleaning, as i am afraid that the sole would slowly come off.

have been just cleaning them with a cloth. for all of you fp veterans out there, would it be fine if i just soak my fp shoe into water and then letting it air dry?

thanks for the help in advance.

Well said. I need something not too cheap, not too expensive, yet people know the brand and is cool. :D:D

I do like Burberry Black Label though, more for youngster compared to normal Burberry, but its a hassle trying to get it. :(

For most of us, we need slim fit polos. Some brands don't have that cutting, an example is Bally.

I like Burberry, both Brit and Black Label, as they have slim cutting and have value in the sense that they (the classic polos) never go on sale.

Paul Shark is nice but too ex to use as everyday wear.

if chiu submerge the shoe entirely in water, it would not be good for the glue as it might wear off etc. a suggestion ish if chiu shoe is those canvas type, u could try applying some soap detergent or dynamo onto the stain, then use an old toothbrush to brush/scrub the canvas lightly, rinse away the soapy area with water and try not to submerge it in water. dats wad i do for my shoes.
