But it's out of the sudden big buying vol, Cmt And cct have been in their low region for awhile before the surge.

Could be one of the positive reports from one of the brokerage houses...

I read one a few days back.

more than 2/3 of market cap gone

Cyclical industries really not for the faint hearted...

The down times can be brutal. Must have holding power.

GUYS ME NOOBIE NEEDS YOUR HELP

I'm using UOBkayhian. I'm aiming for DairyFarm USD. I don't have any USD in my savings account, so I'll use SGD to buy this stock. So assuming UOBkayhian's exchange rate is 1USD=1.4SGD today, and I buy this stock at 6USD today.

A 10% capital gain (stock price goes up to 6.6USD) will be nulified by a 10% drop in SGD against USD (1USD=1.54SGD)?

Is my thinking correct? Would appreciate your help guys

Correct, just that you got it in reverse. A gain in the stock should be nullified by a drop in USD against SGD since your stock's denominated in USD. If USD goes to 1.54 SGD, you're actually making a paper gain.

OH!!! yes yes.... in that case if DairyFarm goes to 6.6 and USD=1.54SGD, I'd be making 20% gain (10% from capital gains + 10% forex gains)

Utilities Too competitive resulting in lower revenue.
Some people just choose to overlook this, but stock price already reflect future weaker earning.

If earning become weaker, next quarter or next next quarter PE will have sudden jump due to weakening earning.

Market is adjusting to account for next 6 months economy outlook, not looking good currently, but I expect a recovery next year when China starts to pick up due to monetary and fiscal easing

I thought SCI's utilities reported weak earnings too or did I remember wrongly?
