Why you never try for medicine with yr grades?

The infamous list of courses that straight A A-level students choose no longer holds
1. Medicine
2. Dentistry
3. Chemical Engineering

The whole thing about people with straight As trying for medicine is getting stale.

Occupation: Full Time Tutor(Ex School Teacher)

last time bluff us, say u doing own business same as dividend warrior

dividend warrior was not tuition teacher, he is the owner of the tuition center wor hehehehehe

but I think u from rich family ba

ex teacher (1 year) and now tuition (for 6 years) alone cannot be can fund 4 property and 200k+ in stocks... with 7 years of this kinda salary... give u save 3k max a month times 12 months and 7 years, max is only 200k++ for your stocks, where your $$ for property come from?

anyway u good life la, and I admit I jelly of u... although we both now self employed and FF liao....... can live off passive income, but I really worked hard to build my 300k portfolio... each dollar and cent is I earn and invest one... only my HDB flat is inherited one... last time u still tell me your 4 property the $$ each dollar and cent is u ownself earn one... teacher/tuition... how to make that much to fund 4 property??????

all the best to u man, take care

Since you are the thread starter and ask non stock related questions, I will answer your this question sincerely.

I worked for very long period of time already, not just 3 + 4 years as what you thought, at least 10 years. Last time tuition wasn't as competitive as current market and I was lucky to have some agents to help me along the way. I have some competitive advantages over other tutors, means i can get assignment much easier compared to other people because of my memory, not many tutors able to do combination of subjects at IB or A levels. Just a simple question, like student asked you to do certain loan repayment calculation using GP, you cannot tell him you forgot how to do it and revise first. Tuition at high level is not as easy as what you thought, you need to be ready for those tough questions set by school teachers.

Tuition itself is a broad market but what I am doing now is more towards a niche market. That's why I am able to survive.

I'm more concern how much money they burn by doing all of these....protecting Yuan and pushing SSE....1 trillion dollar?
I guess the next acid test will be on 26th Jan...when the 15th trading session reached and the major shareholders reaction....
Got a bad feeling that something going to happen...

Maybe economy not as bad as expected bah.

I just wonder how many of you personally went to shanghai/hangzhou/beijing before?

People over there living stardard are quite high and their market really very huge. Just a famous shop at shanghai bund area, I have to wait for 30 minutes before i get a seat. The building was 3 storeys, just selling xiao long bao.
Shopping centres also full of people.

now lesser PRC chinese come to SG already.

People concern most companies in china using debt to grow, but somehow as long as the demand and the market still there, this problem will be solved eventually.

Not good meh? I think they gonna hold it till China CPF come in to support the market.

Better for the market to quickly collapse to 1800 so that we can have a V shape recovery all the way to STI 4000. Damn these interfering Chinese mandarins. Btw, Happy CNY hor.

U r really underestimating the potential of being a private tutor. I used to know a full time undergrad from ntu doing part time tuition. His monthly income was atleast 6k.

10 years tuition can buy 4 property and 200k stocks
going to be tuition teacher now! hehehehe

btw I did a restructing of portfolio today

sold off my 7000 sti etf to hoot more of
ARA, M1 & UOB

as these 3 fell more than the index, think I have more value rotating to them... even if it means losing like 0.6% on commission to broker

Quite a huge percentage of my ex coursemates are tuition teachers, I think i am the only one that can sustain on tuition alone. Most of them stop already. Try first, then you will know it is not easy.

Your restructure like no restructure like that.
i was thinking of selling some of my shares to raise cash leh, but think wait till after CNY first, maybe somewhere in July.
