very important question.... if power trip, will it screw up the whole system?

depends if ur system have backup power for real time clock or not lor

how often your house power trip? even after trip just turn it on and its fixed. additionally the switches will still work even without the controller.

if u kiasu can put UPS

Have you tried replacing those hidden gadget? some times it look nice but will be maintenance nightmare. planning to DIY some home automation come next renovation

Nothing hard to access. I have a proper server rack and in other rooms the equipment is inside the console box.

Additionally as mentioned, none of the devices require physical administration. Can be remotely managed off-site by dealer

Those device (lights, aircon, etc) have to be certain brand to be compatible with the automation system or any brand will do?

Most brands should be fine. But you'd need additional modules for each device

I think aircon automation can already. Quite affortable also. Now even door lock also automation. If you dont buy those all in one set i think is cheaper.

My house prone to trips so sometimes when it does trip, by the time i reach home, i can throw away my ice cream and milk etc.

then again when house trips all appliance all mati including internet etc.

But even if the system alert you of trip, what can you do when you are not at home? Won't it will be better for someone to check on your electricity?

Depends. Some of us have a few floors. U self implement one wont be as elegant.

Alone it has little meaning. Think about how the house can understand your living patterns. That's interesting

Well if you live in a condo you can call your guards to check. Alternatively if you have an IP camera you can track and tag the perpetrator. You can also set off an alarm on all your audio devices and tvs to deter and disrupt the burglar
