It's not about rushing and cramming as many features as possible; it's about introducing new useful features that work seamlessly in a new phone. :s12:

When I was an intern in 2004, I was a supporting role in a TD department in car electronics company. The project was about implementing car camera. The clarity that was achieved then is already as clear as what we see today. Many TD companies have a lot of projects on hand and are way more advanced than what we see in market today. So don't be surprised how many advanced stuffs apple and other companies are doing now.

As for seamlessly.. When Apple introduced large iPhone 6 and 6 plus, they also introduce a feature known as Reachability.. To double tap the home button to lower the screen to half so that the thumb can reach the top of the lowered screen.. It works even when inside an app. Sure.. Android has apps like one hand mode for Xposed mod on rooted device but nowhere it works as seamlessly as iPhone.
Samsung has that reachability thing since note 4. Different gesture to activate but works exactly the same. Guess apple has got a way of hyping up something unlike other companies. Many people still don't know many android phones have this reachability thing and it works as well as the iPhone's.

That is what I am saying about apple. They have a group of followers and they have this ability to hype up even the smallest feature. Steve jobs was a better salesman than Tim cook though.

All you guys are debating is over the software aspect of the Apple phone.

I am sorry to say but Apple is more than just its iOS. Its the hardware and software integration that makes the iPhone so desirable (at least for me).

The day when Google finally designs its own chip and make it mandatory for all Android devices to used said chip will be the day when Android has a chance over Apple.

I don't care if you have an Iris scanner on the phone or if you have finger print scanner on the phone, if the phone lags within 3 months of usage then it is a phone that i do not want.

If my phone explodes because of unreliable suppliers, i do not want that too.

If my phone lags or reboots randomly after a few days of purchase, i do not want that too.

For the unreliable suppliers part, got to be careful if buying apple. Some iPhones are using Samsung SDI batteries.

Apple has many suppliers though since they dont build the phones themselves.

Wanna argue until the cows come home? :s13:

Most android phones require rooting to have this function. And samsung's implementation is weird. How are you going to use this with a thick casing? Note 4 was released same period as iPhone 6. Given that Samsung released big phones way earlier, how come they only had this "one handed operation" only in 2014? And does this function works seamlessly across most android apps?

You implement features when you need it. Not just add as gimmick.

I saw my friend's Galaxy s4 cannot even play Pokemon go properly. :s22:

The best thing I like about Apple is the software hardware implementation. Add useful features, not add a lot and then has no use for that. I still remember how android manufacturers were mocking Apple for dual core phones with 1GB ram... And turns out that it's the android phones that lagged.

Even my 5 year old iMac with ssd runs as fast as day one even after 5 OS upgrades. My MacBook Air battery life can last 10 -11 hours with browser, ms excel, word, iMessage, notes all running. Boot up to Windows and it can't even last six hours.

You know what's the worst people out there? There are people who mock Apple for coming up with first GUI based OS for computers, and then they themselves are using MS Windows. They are also the ones who mocked Apple for coming out with a touchscreen iPhone without physical keyboard, and then now they are using android handset.

Not arguing just pointing it out. Don't know what you mean by not being able to use it with a thick case but it works well and it works system wide with any apps. Even games cuz it just shrinks the whole screen down to one corner depending on which side of the screen you choose. It was a feature that worked, not really a gimmick. In fact, I find the reachability on my iPhone more gimmicky than the note 4 implementation. The iPhone one just move the top half of the screen down but doesn't shift the screen nearer to the hand you are using. So hitting back still requires some stretching.

I rarely use reachability on my iPhone but use it often on my note 4. But the iPhone way to activate might be more convenient for some.

In Apple QC we trust :s13:

You know why I respect Apple so much?

Because I worked with them last time as QA engineer. I also worked with other computer vendors.

Apple hardware engineers hardware knowledge is second to none. When our electronic components have issues, other computer vendors (I cannot name them) will ask for a short summary of reason for failure, then asked for discounts and asked for more shipments.

Apple? They demanded a preliminary failure report in 72 hours, followed by a detailed 8D report. When their engineers came over from USA, they had no return tickets. They demanded to know what test patterns and algorithm, the exact physical defect, etc. even during audit, they went around and literally interrogated the production operators in the line about what they were supposed to if one alarm went off.

When our in house testing system and usual consumer test program cannot detect the issue in our hardware, they demanded to use an apple exclusive test program which detected the failure. It's only after accelerated and intensive testing on our in house test program that replicated the failure.

Most of my ex Colleagues changed to using Apple after working with them.

Samsung's one handed operation was first launched on the S5, about half a year before iPhone 6 came out. And yes, it works across all apps and systems seamlessly. But that being said, Android itself does not have such a feature.

Just Google and you'll see. I rmb that BMW and Tesla also using batteries from Samsung SDI. Quite a number of companies using batteries from them since they are one of the largest suppliers.

I googled and did my due dillegence.

As of the iPhone 6 or atleast 6s they are using battery from Simplo

In addition to batteries made by Simplo, present-generation iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus use battery packages produced by China-based Desay and Sunwoda.

“Simplo originally expected to be able to secure its orders for the new iPhone battery orders for the second half of 2015, but may not be able to do so as China battery makers’ technology and production capacity have both been improving,” reads the report.

http://www.idownloadblog.com/2015/05/26/iphone-6s-battery-new-suppliers/

Could you direct me to the link where it says that iPhone uses Samsung SDI? Also chips maybe yes Apple gets Samsung to manufacture it using Apple's own design but battery? Ummm source?

After much digging, i did your homework for you and found an article in 2012 where they dropped samsung for other suppliers. Thats like 4 years ago so any existing device would not be samsung related anymore.
http://www.idownloadblog.com/2012/11/23/apple-drops-samsung-battery/

Apple has chosen two China-based battery companies to supply the iPad and MacBook, says a Friday report. Amperex Technology Limited and Tianjin Lishen Battery would replace Samsung SDI, a subsidiary of the South Korean firm that is both Apple’s chief rival and largest supplier. T

Also this is for Macbook and iPad but i think one can argue that they would use the same vendor for iPhone in 2012

People shoot off their mouth without providing source to backup their claims.

When asked for proof of claims, they ask you go google.

When really googled, we all realized its all half truths at best and outdated truth. Why? Because they didn't expect anyone to really go google and they know that the info is there no matter how old.

Its like saying "Bill Clinton still has sex with his secretary" when it was in the past that he did that and doesn't do it now anymore (i hope)

It's all about quality control by the respective Brands. Just like a lot of products are manufactured in China, yet they are dramatically different in quality, it's all about QC! Samsung should fire the head of QC.

In Clinton's case, I think he still does, or at least he still smoke his big cigars! :D
