for 7 plus, when open camera app,
by default which camera lens will be used?
is it a manual or auto switch between lens?

Based on YouTube videos, the normal lens is default. When you zoom in, it will go to the telelens then continue to digital zoom. There is a mark on the zoom slider to show you when you are in digital or optical zoom.

Idk why apple did it that way. I'd rather have a phone that have a wide angle lens and a normal/slightly telephoto lens, like the LGG5/LGV20. Great for taking group photos in tight situations like in a house/taking group selfies.

Maybe they felt iPhone users prefer telephoto. They must have done research. Or they just didn't want to copy every other phone that has dual lens.

Haha no. The wider lens, although wider than the telephoto lens on the 7 plus is not considered a wide lens technically. Its a normal lens compared to phones like the S7..

err from gsmarena e s7 is 26mm with a 1/2.5" sensor. that is hardly wide too i doubt any smartphone camera can be considered truly wide...
