Seems like we aren't the only.ones feeling the SQ is worse using adaptor. But from their results, most should not notice the drop in SQ. But to get best SQ, seems like better buy a headphone with lightning connector rather than use the included adaptor.

Most or all android phones out there already can output 24bit. 6S is still 16bit output. iphone 7 support 24/32bit but when using the adapter, it goes back to 16bit.

the sim card tray seems to have a rubber gasket to keep water out.. if frequent travellers keep changing sim cards and ejecting the tray, the integrity of the seal will definitely be compromised...

The camera in the iphone only costs $40 for apple to put in.

Buying a good camera and use digital zoom will still give you the same result.

I'm guessing that is why the YouTubers conclude that apple is pushing the costs to consumers.

If you want better quality sound, buy a pair of headphones with lightning connector and inbuilt dac/amp to bypass the one in the phone.

I found out that the pixels of my screen goes crazy when I do a hard reset. Usually you get a generally black screen before the screen goes off and show the Apple logo right? Before the screen goes off, my set displayed yellow, turquoise and splotches of white pixels.

Has anyone tried hard resetting their phones and notice such issue?

Anyway does QCD need booking or walk-in is fine for servicing?

A camera with OIS would mean that the sensor will be able to make up for minor hand shakes optically (read: not electronically). Umage quality will be better when:

a) The image taken will be less blurred as slight hand movements are damped
b) The camera can reduce shutter speeds, reduce ISO, to produce cleaner images with less noise (grain as some may call it)
c) Videos will be less shaky

No OIS means the camera auto mode will choose higher ISO so that faster shutter speeds can be used. Furthermore, the telephoto lens has aperture of F2.8. This makes it perform alot worse than the normal lens in low light conditions.

OIS would make lens bigger because more space is required to build OIS elements into the lens to make it works. That's why dslr lenses with OIS are much bigger than those without. f/2.8 aperture is usually suffice for most Low lighting situations. In the order word, engineering challenge. Unless we print or do extensive editing, noise isn't hugely noticable on mobile phone screen. Anyway we use ~24mm more frequently than 50mm with mobile phone?

Yeap. But it's gonna cost us unnecessarily.
Since using the same Lightning Earpods on other iPhone models produces better quality, the culprit is the phone itself then.

On the demo unit I played with, the iPhone 7 is certainly brighter in max settings.

Yeah but now like no stock to replace also... I think we need to know more about this hissgate and whether it affects anything crucial...?

TBH I didn't hear it for these few days until I saw the report on CNET. And it only can be heard at the area of the Apple logo where the chip is and that I place my ears closely attached on the back of iphone. Front also can hear but not as loud

It doesn't bother me much but I only fear of the consequences of prolong usage.

Guess I'll use my iPhone screen naked for the time being in case need to exchange...

What are you guys thoughts? Hmm..?

I actually have a question - the Jet Black casing is made of aluminium with glossy/plastic coating or all is glossy/plastic coating ah?
