not only that, but it could be seen as plain rudeness... or could even leave a bad impression that you can't even afford to maintain a car. Your parents-in-law may feel 'wasteful' as you will lose out a lot on value when you try to sell a car which is relatively new. Once you drive out of the showroom, even if you sell immediately, you lose easily like 30% I heard? But anyway you can't transfer ownership of car lesser than 1yrs of age.

moi cant even afford a car :(

how is it possible to save 90% of your savings unless you probably
1) not giving your parents any money (that one takes away 20+ percent of my salary already) I think it takes a very special type of human being not to give your parents any money.
2) not paying your own bills, transport, food, telco, etc
!?

When you are earn a high income?

20k/mth = 10% expenses is $2,000

Wait till AI bring down the COGS for Uber and Grab to 0. You sure within our lifetime this will not happen? Will taxi operators like CDG go with driverless taxis?

I did not research on the support and resistance prices for CDG so cannot comment what is good price to enter.

What I know is taxi operators got complacent. They thought the low hanging fruits are there for the plucking perpetually.

As for Taxi App companies yes they are disrupting the status quo but it comes with a price. These are private companies and are not obliged to report their earnings to the public. Whether they are making profits or not nobody knows. Because they are backed by venture capitalists the CEO can burn cash without answerable to shareholders. Only answerable to the backers which hope these startups will be the next Facebook. The internet bubble burst is a good reminder. One day all these so called App tech startups bubble will burst also once the money runs out.

You can see Uber pulling out of certain markets or consolidating with domestic players. In short Taxi App companies are burning cash giving out free rides or promotion to capture market share. In the long run definitely not sustainable.

If you cannot beat them then join them. Taxi operators can come out with their own App and offer more competitive rents to attract drivers.
