PE now is 8.
Dividend last year was $0.065.
Been paying divvies since 2007 and growing steadily.

cheap stock with desirable dividend history?

think i had looked at the stock before. can't remember why i didn't want it. perhaps i place too much emphasis on book value...

anyway the dividend payout seems very high from sgxcafe... if the figures are right, this could be a dividend trap (not sustainable)

My group already 5 chemist but all from ntu chemistry. Then got 2 nbs girls. Then got 1 from AHSS one. 8 ntu people all grad together last year. However now is still on drawing board phase.

for anyone that is interested... these companies are what i call potentially "super" companies.. in that they are pretty low or zero debt (<10 debt-to-equity), yet having very decent double-digit ROEs, a low PE of less than 10, and pays over 2% yield at least. Hock Lian Seng was one of them until its price soared recently.

Holding a basket of them might pay some rewards, though screening is just the first step...

Nice. I'm vested in 3 of them and has another 2 in my watch list.

i still think design studio is a dividend trap.. not sure if you have any advice since you are an immensely successful investor and probably have something to add.

I like sgxcafe too. The only advantage stockfact give is the industry allocation

Sgxcafe screener is extremely lightweight and hence fast to use. Immediately one can see the short term (5 years) performance of the balance sheet ratios ... tells the story real quick

Chemical and related equipment. Hoping to be like alfa aesar or sigma aldrich. My peers and me throwing everything we have inside. Still young so is now or never.

Those big boys got a lot of existing contracts in all the universities, A*STAR RI, hospitals etc. If you are selling just lab grade reagents, you have a tough start.

If you want to start some business that deals with more cutting edge services such as oligonucleotide synthesis and related services, that kind of market has more room for expansion.

*SG: Construction. From Budget 2017, the sector will benefit from the SGD700m of public sector infrastructure projects brought forward to 2017 & 2018. However, there was no deferment of foreign worker levy rates, which will be increased from Jul '17, and the 30% hike in water prices from this Jul could raise operating expenses for the construction sector, one of the largest users of water by industry.

*SG: Land transport. Restructured diesel taxes to be implemented in Aug '17 would be volume-based with a duty of SGD0.10/litre, compared to the previous lump sum tax. While this would incrementally raise fuel costs, particularly for public buses and companies such as ComfortDelGro and SBS Transit, the impact on diesel taxis would be partially mitigated by a SGD850 reduction in the annual tax to SGD4,250 .
