Just to share something interesting I did a few months ago . I have always been quite good at buying but really bad at selling. Reflecting a couple of times over the years and if I am to hold on those, the dividends and capital gains will be a lot higher than flipping.

So caught a few bargains early in the year, DBS, OCBC, M1(ya not great) I decided to close all my CDP broker accounts so I cannot sell these. So far it has been great! Let's see what happens in a few months and hopefully I will keep these for a long long time to come.

I tend to feel the opposite.....I find selling easier than buying most of the time :s13:

Once the fundamentals change for the worse, I am usually quite decisive in divesting......but for me to buy, I must do homework first and look for bargains, shifting goalposts etc etc:s22:

I only retail and commercial reits, i prefer to focus fire so as to attain above market returns

my portfolio is more pure/focus... as compared to STI ETF

reits/telcos/banks... dont have rubbish commodities counters or dying blue chips like SPH/HPH

so I am very confident that my portfolio will outperform the index

for me... buying is always harder... it takes me weeks to months of digging, reading news, reading research reports, reading annual reports to find AMAZING companies that are selling at CHEAP price

after putting in a position... its just waiting and waiting... collect dividends and wait for my company's true value to be reflected in the market... and then sell

best example is ARA... a super hidden gem that very very few people knew about and I made 20k on that position, whole journey all shown and posted in this forum

cheers

Yup......a healthcare REIT will make ur collection more complete ;)

And in an aging world, a healthcare REIT is rather essential too

I see that u also avoid hospitality Reits...:o

I also avoid hospitality reits... very volatile and unstable, they are not good for long term dividends..... as they are rather cyclical

healthcare reits are high quality with good future prospects but valuations are too high and yields are too low

flat night for US

oil down 2-3%... SCI and KC may see selling pressure as traders quickly lock in profits too

I have sold 2000 KC and 5000 SCI, do not think I will add back even if it comes down cheap... earned enough on this cyclical stocks liao

just wanna enjoy my December break and collect dividends from reits in early 2017

The easiest time is the in-between buying and selling, just sit back, do nothing and watch it grows! :)
