Hmm.. you are right.
1 From HK, 7 from Australia, 2 from Singapore (CMT, Ascendas)

Apparently, Japan was excluded... wondered why.

Real estate is not the best investment in a nation caught in a deflationary spiral.....:( difficult to get positive rental reversions

The top REIT market in Asia is Japan, followed by Australia and Singapore. Hong Kong is a distant fourth. But this REIT etf does not even have a single REIT from Japan.....:s22:

it's tracking the APAC ex-Japan REIT index, of course no have Japanese REIT la

Reminds me of the times when I used to go around my class to ask my classmates for their exam results because I want to compare.....I will be happy if I scored higher than most of them and frustrated if I scored lower:s13:

Later, I realised all these comparison is just pointless.....even if I top my own class, there are so many other classes and other schools in Singapore! So, I have accepted the fact that there will always be people who are better or worse than me. The key is to challenge myself, not others.....:D

Reminds me of this famous quote:
“I failed in some subjects in exam, but my friend passed in all. Now he is an engineer in Microsoft and I am the owner of Microsoft.”

But would that cushion some risk comparing with buying just few REITS individually?

I read somewhere in the blog and they mentioned this REIT ETF is also subjected to 17% witholding tax as well. :s11:

Spread fear post start

Gg start of lost decade

Spread fear post end

IMO not yet reach lost decade yet......we still have a few projects like the HSR, Project Jewel, Changi Terminal 5, mega new port at Tuas :D

More like 'treading water' decade as Singapore's economy is already matured.....the best strategy in a developed economy is to collect CD!:o

aims.. i tink a better bet is ascendes... 2% less DIV but alot more stable.

though ascendes is still trading above book. i would like to assume that we will be able to buy at discount during next year's fed actions.
just my 2cents
