S-reits are attractive because they have been oversold.. I see Spore malls more crowded than other malls in Australia and US

Sometimes i wonder. There is no capital gains and dividend tax here. Why the hell is the market dead? It doesnt make sense, at all to me.

trading costs are way to high here

$25 or $10 minimum comms + clearing fees deter traders from participating in the local market

another reason is the high levels of asset inflation in SG in recent years, and uncertainties over economic growth

they always lead to a muted stock market

all the hot money flowed back to US

now US is in 7 year bull market... investors then to prefer betting on a market that is on a uptrend

SG market low interest levels and stocks are cheap
Its the right time to be owning sg shares

US market hot and overvalued, i would avoid US for sure
Any time the US bubble can burst and fall 20-50%

currently, many stocks in SG are severely undervalued
but may stay in the doldrums for some time yet

US markets more easy to short,
and got alternative investments like money market funds to ride out any bear markets

Bulk of my investment in US bonds and preference shares.. I never count any return from FD/money fund because of the pathetic interest.. Now with my retirement fast looming, I need to deploy my cash holding faster..

I see.....in that case quite safe :D Should be on track towards early retirement! Nice! :s12:

24k per year, 2k per month comfortable super comfortable for me hehehehe

need around 480k into stocks for that wit 5% yield

Ya.....I actually need $1k (maybe less) to survive but I need another $1k to give parents allowance...so must target $2k at least to be safe:D

With a 6% yield, need $400k capital base.....I should reach there in 4 years :s22:
