Yes fulfilled 5 years ago.
DO they need to pay levy?

As a 2nd timer, lower chances than all the applicants?

Low chance indeed. My queue number is always out of the available units.

Have to pay levy if current house is bto flat.

Hi all, first time applying for SBF and I have a question. I'm currently in the midst of a job switch, but have been working from Dec 2016, my last day was 7th May. My partner just finished studies and is currently looking for a job. Would HDB allow me to book a flat if let's say I were to get a queue number?

I am rather conflicted whether to go for SBF or BTO this time cos I saw a few units at the place I am staying in are abailable and it's a shorter wait than BTO..

But at the same time I am a tad fearful cos SBF only a few units while BTO has more units so in theory higher and better chances supposedly..

Decisions..decisions..

Sure. Whether u jobless or retire also can apply.
It will affect ur grant mostly and HDB loan.

Make a wise decision.... If can wait for at least 4 years than BTO else SOBF..

it depends on whether you can wait or cannot wait. and also what kind of scheme you can get from hdb. as well as if you can accept the leftover units (usually low lvl floor).

for example, if your parents live near the area you are applying, you can apply the MCPS and get a first chance in the 30% set aside and then an addition chance.

this will boost up your chance of getting a flat in either bto or sobf

But i felt most ppl who chose sobf mostly is under mcps scheme.. if the units i want is only about 20/100, first timer with mcps also not so high chance right

Actually I can wait..BUT not too long like the BTO which are targeted to finish by 2020 or so and beyond..which is a tad crazy for me..While the SBF looks on track to finish by 2018..which sounds perfect for me..

Correct. The units I am eyeing is actually across the overhead bridge where I am staying now..LOL..so surely I will fall under MCPS..

But I am a tad conflicted cos only a few units available for offer compared to BTO full offering..but the units were mostly surprisingly high floors and within my budget..and like what someone above mentioned..most applicants tend to qualify under MCPS so u are vying with ppl with same scheme as you..kinda like not much advantage to me..

Its something I need to think about as I have been monitoring the application rate for both the SBF and BTO before deciding to dump 10 bucks in..

its not the $10 that matters... its the chances. if the units in sbf you wanted no more, you are giving up one chance... second timer v v hard to get one

Yeah was just kidding..

What I meant is the SBF units in TPY there are like 14-15? But now I check the application rate for FT is like 8.8..while if I gonna go choose Bidadari now the rate is like 1.2..

Its a big diff..

to view available units, plot location, estimate costs and actual completion date, go to this page, click along the top bar under the bigaxx banner, Flat Details.
you can see which floors available for which block.
http://esales.hdb.gov.sg/hdbvsf/eampu06p.nsf/0/17MAYSBF_page_7239/$file/about0.html

to view SBF application statistics: https://services2.hdb.gov.sg/webapp/BP13BTOENQWeb/AR_May2017_SBF?strSystem=SBF

To be honest, most people are using those schemes multi family, parent nearby those kind or elderly are applying.
looking at the rate, the elderly already exceed 1.0 then chance for non-elderly is low already.
and if the first timer is also more than 1.0 then you can confirm that once units are allocated to elderly and FT with families and schemes..
all you second timer families and 2rm singles, you can wave bye bye.

this is my personal opinion la. i already resigned that i won't get a single thing.
unless i go try the BTO woodlands but who got time to wait 6 year man. HAHAHA
