Anyone knows where to get the power adapter for the Motorola set top box?

If damaged -- go to SERV+ to exchange
https://www.singtel.com/personal/support/replacement-centresIf lost -- not so sure where to get.

I lost the power supply of the Singtel ONT (Ericson brand, issued in Feb 2012) and I was using my own power adapter. When I exchanged it for a new ZTE ONT in 2018, due to contact issues, I had to pay S$21.40 for the adapter. Actually I could bought that cheaper from Carousell.

Based on the terms and conditions, the adapter for the Singtel TV box will be charged at S$21.4 as well.

Not sure if damaged, the box can only be powered on with the power connector being inserted at a certain angle. Trying to see if I can get another power supply adapter first before going over to +serv.

Same as my previous Mio TV STB. You can change the whole thing. You need to return the old TV box including the power adapter and remote.

After I got the recontract in Sept 2018, I exchanged the ONT and the Motorola set top box, both were issued in Feb 2012 and had the same power contact issues you are facing.

Looks like it's a common issue. I got the box since 2010 so I guess age has catch up and problems start to surface, though the box is still working fine.

I contacted Singtel and they mentioned that I am able to exchange my Motorola STB at +Serv even if I'm out of contract. Shall make a trip down one day.

Wow you still on the first gen Motorola.

I already changed to CISCO, Tatung and now the 4K Arris model.
Has been working fine for the past 10yrs so didn't thought of changing it, and was informed by the Singtel tech support that the Motorola box is better than the newer boxes in terms of durability. :s13:

The newer ones feel snappier than the Motorola one.

Better CPU for sure and the 4K Arris now runs on Unix rather than Windows CE on the Motorola.
Can't remember whether the CISCO and Tatung ones are running on UNIX or Windows CE.

Hmm, never had any durability issues on any of my boxes before, so can't comment on that.

Yes, the newer ones are indeed snappier when I tried the newer boxes at my relatives house using the Cisco box. Quite tempting to make me switch away the Motorola box for the snappiness.

Not sure what's the current HD STB box they are issuing, heard Tatung is no longer available.

Likely CISCO i guess. Anyway i find the CISCO one better than Tatung because of the large digital clock.

Just did the recontract in the end of October, 12 months contract, 50% OFF family favourite pack, free basic box rental. This has been the same offer for me since I changed to this back in 2018.

You need to go down to SingTel Shop TV counter to get the good offer. And your offer may be different from mine.

Thank you
the sales line die die want me take 1 or 2 years without perks
then what’s the point of recontracting right ?
might just as well let it roll without contract

think i’ll head down to the shop see if i can get the same offer of STB 1 - FOC, STB 2 50% off … TV GO foc for 12 months

Yes go to the Singtel Shop will have better offer. And you need to go to the TV counter, not to listen to the front door staff who will have NO clues about Singtel TV offers. My offer does not include Singtel TV Go though.

A big thank you once again

firstly, i confirm … if your singtel contract is going to end or ended … your best way of recontracting with good offers is to head to one of 4 designated ST shops (but if u can, avoid the ComCentre one … more of that later)
make sure it’s the Singtel TV counter that is serving you ! important !
if you’re already enjoying free STB rental … go only on the month your contract expiring (u can recontract 3 months before expiry but likely u won’t be given free stb rental etc)

monday, i went down to comcentre
the tv counter staff there not sure what’s her problem … told me no offers
i’ll have to pay $12.90 for my stb, $14.90 for my 2nd stb, and singtel tv go $6.90 … IF I DONT RECONTRACT
IF 1 year, i’ll have to pay $4.90 for stb1, $12.90 for stb2
very peeved even though i cited a friend was given 1 yr foc stb and 50% off family pack (mine is action value pack)
did nothing and left

today i was prepared to cxl my stb2, and recontract 1 yr at $4.90 stb1 …
i went down to CWP shop …
and lo and behold they outright gave me stb1 foc rental 1 yr, and upgraded my free 1 yr tv go from 1 device to 3 !
they can’t offer anything for stb2 so i returned that set (will use xiaomi smart box for tv go)

they asked me to return to them one year on !
excellent service ! 👍🏻👍🏻

i did raise the comcentre encounter … and they were perplexed
i know i was at the tv counter bcoz the person next to me returned a stb !
all the lady serving me said was no promo !
thinking back damn peeve !
