singtel tv does not operate on wireless platform, its always connected via ethernet cable. If you want it to be on wireless platform, it has to be using singtel wifi mesh.

Actually it can be on wireless platform. I am using it wirelessly. Plug and play.

Need to use aztech wb210-z which Singtel offer as a solution previously. Still using now with my asus router. No lag and on asus, can see connectivity is 1gbps.

that aztech product was issued by singtel many years ago for singtel tv wireless trial, and it seems that not many users benefited from the wireless bridge.

anyway, that aztech product can no longer be purchased as it has reached EOL.

Got picture but no sound, but other channels got sound and picture?

If that’s the case, check your sound channels..

Anyone knows if Asus RT AC 86U router supports vlan tagging for 2 miotv? I only know that the default profile supports 1 miotv. Thanks!

Sorry for the second post. I would like to check if wireless miotv connection using the ONT ---> Singtel Pace Router ---> Airties Mesh can be changed to ONT ---> Asus router ---> Airties?

Thanks in advance!

Airties works with Asus as Long as Asus has vlan profile activated..

However, airties will not support singtel tv cos Asus itself has a limitation on its lan port. Each lan port can only support either internet or SingTel tv. Cannot concurrent like singtel routers..

Thanks a lot! Appreciate the help!

One last query. Currently my Singtel Pace router has all of its lan ports used up (1 for miotv, 1 for Asus router, 1 for home camera and 1 unknown).

Is it possible for me to use a ethernet network switch to split the connection so I can add one more lan connection for my airties mesh in order for the wireless miotv to work? Which lan port do you recommend that I switch? Thanks a lot!

Actually I am doing all of this for a relative. They found their internet to be too slow. I got them an Asus RT-AC86U but only after that I realised that their 2nd miotv is connected wireless to their airties mesh. I replaced that lan port which the airties was using with the Asus router.

if you intend to use the pace router after the ONT, then the switch can be placed in any lan port, nothing will matter.

it gets complicated when you intend to replace the pace with an asus router, in which you will need to carefully select which port is for singtel tv and which is for internet.

however, if you intend to get a smart switch, then the smart switch can be connected to any of the LAN port of asus with internet, which not using the ports for singtel tv. a smart switch must be able to handle VLAN and that priority and tagging should be supported.

I strongly encourage you not to go into the smart switch set up, because it will be very confusing as settings such as IGMP snopping, tags and all these will come into place which an average consumer will not know how to setup.

Hi guys, looking for some advice reference Singtel Mesh.

Question: Can I connect the from Fibre Termination Point/ONR --> Mesh --? MioTV Box ?

Essentially, can I connect my MioTV wirelessly?

I know there are a few variants of the answer to my question which I saw in the 200+ pages. I managed to read some, but (by admission) not all...

Background:

My fibre termination point is near my front door.
It currently connects via Cat6, through trunking and false ceilings into my study room. There was extensive work done to lay the cables.
I am on the 1GB Fibre Unlimited plan - i.e. zero/less throttling. It's no longer available for subscription, and they want me to change to the normal 1GB plan, which I don't want to.

My Singtel MioTV is running on ADSL - which they have now told me will be cut off in April, as all TV will be on fibre.
They say they need to run another cable through to my TV location (also in study), which I don't want to do.

Hence looking to see if I can connect TV wirelessly.

Thanks!

Yes SingTel tv can run wireless on airties mesh..

Your setup will only work if you’re sure it’s aN ONR. If it’s an ONT, you need the router before the mesh..

Thanks for that.
Have you tried it before?
Is there signal lag or degradation?

Is this something singtel will offer or I have to suggest?

Reason I ask is because the Singtel counter folks keep telling me that the only way to do it is recontract my fibre internet to the existing 1gb plan. I thought they are two mutually exclusive things. I suspect they trying to get me off the fibre unlimited plan.

Thanks

SingTel doesn’t offer singtel tv over adsl already. So it will be provisioned over fibre if you insist to keep the standalone singtel tv service.

I tried to run singtel tv wirelessly over airties before, it was the same as the wired setup. But you have to make sure that both nodes are able to communicate effectively in order for it to work. I mean, it won’t overcome any physical limitation..

What do you mean

make sure that both nodes are able to communicate effectively in order for it to work. I mean, it won’t overcome any physical limitation..

Did you have to set it up yourself or Singtel? Did Singtel recommend this set up?

(Sorry to be a pain, but the counter guys refused to acknowledge that this would work - which pisses me off, as I think they are really trying to force me to give up my unlimited plan)
