Need some advice from the experts here. I was using starhub set top for movies on my samsung 40" tv for a few years and every channel is showing in full screen.

However when I switched to MIO TV I seems to have some issues.
The HD channels like BPL comes out full screen and nice, however the non HD channels will have a black border on its left and right.
When I adjusted the resolution on the MIO TV remote to non HD, the HD channels have black border top and bottom and the non HD channels are all full screen now.

Is there any way to make it seamless ? As in both HD and non HD channels all in full screen ? Thanks in advance.

Yes, the 3 new Jinghua channels. Frankly speaking, not that interesting to me...

Set your resolution to HD, then under the picture mode (I believe it's the "E" button on the remote), keep pressing it under it changes to "Stretch". This will expand the 4:3 SD channels to widescreen 16:9 format.

I went to enquire about signing up MIO TV also. But was told that I will need to have the fibre plan or telephone line with them then can sign up...

Hi guys, anyone try using more than 1 pair Aztech WB210-Z(Wireless Home Bridge for mioTV)? Will it works?

Current set-up with 1 pair: 1 connected to router, another to mioTV box.

I'm thinking to connect 1 more pair to another 2 more mioTV box.

Is that possible? Anyone tried? Thanks

Have not tried, but in theory it should work. But some factors to be aware of: Distance of 2nd miotv; potential obtacles to wireless..

Possibly, or a firmware upgrad. Call technical helpdesk to check (1688)

You mean u have reset the set top box by restarting a few times until a Gear icon appeared?

I encountered this once and i did a restore, it worked fine then on..

Oh no i missed your reply. Its basically keep forcing your stb to restart by holding down the power button on the stb. After a few tries, the gear icon will automatically appear..

I think my motorola non dvr stb is only version 1.1...

Try this:
you need to hard reset your mioTV setup box. Press OK button, the down arrow, and the power button on your setup box at the same time. You should see all three indicators (green, blue, and red) on the front panel light up. Then release the power button and keep the other two pressed. Once you see the flashing of the indicators, release the OK button and down arrow. Your setup box should now be reset and it will take 30 to 40 minutes to boot up.

I read that SingTel now only rents out either Tatung and Cisco STB. Which is a better choice, or is that a newer STB that SingTel is offering now, as my current obsolete Motorola STB is beginning to give me intermittent problems.

Will the new STB load up faster than the current 2 mins?
