i find edmw moderation can random/non-standard at times.

yes mod exist to keep order but ultimately the purpose is to serve forum users better not make arbitrary random decisions over users.

i feel threads are posted in which subforum is up to user and should be respected. these threads should not be moved arbitrary at the fancy of mods. if the thread is not relevant, the forum population will just ignore the thread naturally. unless the thread clear cut is problematic eg harassing, insult, excessive parroting then mod can feel free do remove other wise the forum should be left alone as much as possible.

edmw is a chit chat forum, the scope cover anything from news, politics, sales. are the mods prepared to move all edmw talks abt food to makan forum? all news politics to current affair? if not then keep a uniform standard and respect users.

suggestion :


there should be public voting for mods.

maybe have mixed pools of mods. some designated by forum owner. some voted.



for all actions.....must have mods from both camps to approve.

I also feel that there should be accountability for the Mods action.
So we know which mod is behind certain activities. This is to curb mis-use of mod power and hold them accountable

Last time at least when the mods close thread or do thing, they will post on that thread and not behave like cowards.

but different subforums got different standards and acceptance of behaviours i guess?

How quickly the wind changes. Not long ago, you were suggesting discuss **** is equivalent to stirring race.

You also don't anyhow put words. It isn't even because of negative comments per se. Cranthir has even pointed out that negative sentiments about the subject matter can be expressed, regardless of how negative(ie critical) they are about the subject matter. It is when they start doing things like one user insulting(eg scold the other person mother) another or something like " all people from x should die",etc that infractions start being given out. Even then, it has been clearly stated that ultimately what forced their hand is because too many on the same topic created at one time and possibly by clones, not the subject matter or the comments themselves.
