i think it's the Android Pie battery optimisation which puts the phone into deep sleep, disabling double tap and finger print.

Not sure how to replicate the problem. Perhaps if you leave yr phone untouch for awhile the problem might present itself.

Sounds about correct. Usually the next day after I wake up the double tap don’t work. But throughout the day seems ok
