Anyone upgrading 6 to 6T?

Still skeptical with in-display fp as might hit or miss even with tempered glass applied. The lack of headphone jack sigh.

OP says their FP scanner is world best and fastest. i am waiting for comparison videos between the M20P and 6T rgd the FP scanner. Maybe it's really better than Huawei's implementation.

not sure why people want to compare huawei with OP.

i have used Huawei Mate 10 before.

1) slow android security update.
2) EMUI restrict apps in bg is too tremendous till a point sometimes telegram message or carousell notification does not come in even i have tune the settings.
3) extremely poor resale value.
4) kirin has no match to SD in terms of custom roms offering and customization.

although yes, camera might lose out abit. But i can simply download Google Camera to replace OP camera.

I've used both M10P and many OP phones b4 so my 2 cents
1) Yes that's true. HW is a bit slow, there are months that don't have any updates on the M10P.
2) Don't have this issue at all, notifications come in on time, never fooled around with the individual app settings
3) as per another dude's comment, resale value is similar. actually M10P is better since it's a local set, can buy with contract. I paid $60 for mine in Feb this year so after selling can still earn profit but OP i need to pay full price, after selling sure lose money
4) B4 OP6, custom roms were fun, after OP6 when they introduced the very retarded A/B partition, custom roms are a royal pain in the butt, I keep getting my OP6 soft bricked. Plus the custom roms were buggy and didn't bring a lot more to the table compared to oxygenOS. Only good thing is having root to install adblocker.

Huawei and OP6 will have poor resale value, that comparison is kinda moot now I think about it. :s13:

Yes, Just buy to enjoy the phone. If want good resale value, then left with Samsung and Apple only.

u mean the pro right? cos the m20 is the same price. so comparing 6T vs M20 no contract price.. now that's a tough choice..
Same, but I like the oxygen os but Huawei camera is way better. Tough decision. Not much reviews on m20, mostly the pro variant only.

Like you, I have the same dilemma. In the end, I have chosen 6T, I weighed between the stuff I will be experiencing more frequently. The convenience of the front in-screen fingerprint scanner, the nice amoled display and the smoothness and friendly OS wins it. But then all these are down to your own preferences and usage.

Me looking to change from 6 to 6T.. Still thinking to get it from OnePlus HK website or local OnePlus official shop. The warranty plays BIG part in the pricing.
My past experience was, bought a used 5T locally (w/o warranty) and 6 from HK OP website, so far no issues with the phone at all.
Also, didn't see any major hardware complains from the OP users here..

How do you buy from OnePlus HK website? Do they ship directly to Singapore?

my old OP phone had vibrator problem, cost me $80 to replace at the OP svc centre..

Wah.. Many thanks for your valuable feedback. Your issue happens after the warranty period? If yes, then still ok. But if it's within warranty period, then maybe I'll consider getting it from local official store. But the markup is really HIGH

Arranged the unit to be delivered to a friend in HK. Pick up when I was there for holiday. Timing was juz nice. But if I were to order from HK website again, might have to get my friend to mail it to me. Wonder if there is any issue for them to mail it out.. Had a bad experience when my friend tried to mail me a China mobile from Shanghai

Ooo I see, I wonder if Hong Kong has shipping forwarders like ComGateway in the US. But need to calculate if it's worth it or not too. 🤔

Found one based in Singapore that ships from HK called Buyandship but not sure how reliable they are

I bought export set OP3 and around 8 months in, my camera couldn't focus (known OP3 issue online), luckily my qoo10 seller honored the warranty and I spent $16 for shipping to get it fixed. My gf set had the same issue now, but it is way past the warranty. Looking to upgrade soon.
