I find it strange that older games don't automatically take advantage of the high speed storage drives on the PlayStation consoles. The speed is about same or only slightly faster when upgrading PS4 internal drive to SSD version, and now loading PS4 games in PS5 SSD also load only slightly faster.

On PC, I can load up a 20 year old game and it will load up as fast as whatever high speed drives I'm using but for some reason this doesn't apply for the PlayStation consoles, not sure about the Xbox consoles though as I don't have them.

I think this is due to the way Playstation games are created, that the developers locked the game performance, in this case the game loading speed, to a fixed constant hence it cannot take full advantage of high speed drives.

Yup some ps4 games still loading slow.

which older ps4 game isn't benefitting from ps5 SSD? I'm enjoying super fast load times playing ps4 games on my ps5. In fact, this is the main reason I bought a ps5. Games like monster hunter world, spiderman, almost little to no load time.

Really? Guess it's game dependent.

Not all game optimize to run on SSD, that time i checked got people do benchmark some game run fasster some don;t have any diff
that why i opted using Firecude SSHD then ssd due to cost storage size and performance.

Indeed. I think Sony's catering to the PC platform will in the long run dilute the advantages of having a PS5, they're basically slowly killing the PlayStation platform.

The reason I had a PC and Playstation for gaming is because each had their pros and cons. With most PS games going to PC I'm less convinced to get a PS5 or PS6 and beyond, for that matter.
not really though, sony and microsoft make most of their money from subscriptions and games, and i could see sony coming with something like game pass for pc on the pc platform as well and thus reducing the losses they make from selling the consoles.

Any luck getting the official charger?

Go the game shop at Bugis Junction 3rd floor. I got it there last night. Still got a few left. Even have the pulse 3D headset as well.

My set which I ordered through the glitch is coming at 2-3pm. The courier messaged me already
