i mean of course there is a distinct color difference, i of course look at both tv's and i obviously know that there is a difference.

just that for a casual user, both will LOOK fine for watching shows with HDR content. i dont sulk or feel that my watching experience is degraded when i watch on my xiaomi tv tbh.

But still i chose to buy the OLED because i can easily afford those, so why not? Just being honest for those who are tight on budget that the money you pay for example 6 times more for a OLED 120hz tv isnt justify for the price. I am coming from a user who uses monitors that are 280hz as i play competitive fps previously. For the mass majority, a 4k 60hz tv will do fine.

And i try not to be so biased as to defend my purchases. Like since i have an OLED tv, then i go around telling OLED is the best bla bla. Trying to be as fair as possible. Dont wanna be fanboys defending purchases.
oh no man I do get where you are coming from.

from a value standpoint id rather avoid prism or Xiaomi. at the price they offer I'd prefer to spend a bit and get from reputable brand.

in my line of work I have the privilege of viewing and experiencing multiple displays and prism, Xiaomi, toasty tv's all look off to me. the experience to use it, to do a simple task such as change input is also a pain in the butt.

we had on Xiaomi as a demo set.....we have since gotten rid of it as it failed during demo's to client

ooohhh xiaomi has different models i guess, i know the older ones with the chinese interface..some are slow. i bought last year latest model back then, i think it was called the mi 4s with the global english OS, i use that for netflix, disney+ and amazon in my bedroom, still okay.

My CX is for my living room for ps5 and the same streaming apps as above

Hi is there any Samsung Q80T users here? I am a new ps5 owner.
Got an issue to seek the opinion here.

1. After turning on and installing latest patch on ps5, I can’t enable HDR in 4K 120p, will result saying TV not supporting HDR.
2. I connect ps5 using original cable, into HDMI 4 (game port), plug out and plug back hdmi cable but same issue.
3. Went to TV settings, turn on game mode, but will result in black screen.
4. Went to TV settings, uncheck “Input Signal Plus”, then the PS5 is able to display 4K 60p, without HDR.
5. I tried to reformat ps5 and reinstall patch, problem still exists.
6. Weirdly, yesterday I tried to switch to game mode again, and Ps5 was able to display HDR running 4K 120p with Ghost Of Tsushima. After turning off Tv, and turn on again, it’s black out again and I have to turn off game mode.

Anyone here have Q80T to be able to play HDR at 4K?

No game can be displayed 4K @ 120fps yet as far as I know. Nioh Collection can do 1080p @ 120fps though and there are a few games that can do 120fps but not at 4K.

I don't remember I need to do much in the settings, just connect all the cables and power up. Mine is able to display HDR without issues. You can also set Game Mode to Auto in the TV settings. Just press PS button then TV will switch on and go into Game Mode automatically. My TV settings Input Signal Plus is "Checked" for hdmi4 (hdmi 2.1 port) not sure if it helps.

Agree. My Q70T setup was automatic without fail each time.
I suspect yr HDMI cables r faulty. Not possible for the Qled to detect 120Hz (even on Game Mode) cos yr game does not support it. And judging from the random detection, it’s prob the cables you should isolate as 1st source of problem.

I'm using a Sony 4k HDR..

One thing is i like Sony warranty.. My Sony before this was a X85C then 2+ years in, 2 horizontal line and still under few months of warranty..Email them with picture and it turns out panel EOL so they brought a new X85E to come one to one..

I beg to differ. tonnes of people I know can tell the difference between a prism tv/xiaomi tv VS OLED tv man.
I have an LG C9 and I can definitely tell the difference between an OLED and an inferior TV.

I don't mean to sound mean but when I see TVs with inferior panel or people who dunno how to do basic adjustments to their TV for greater accuracy (People who watch/game on vivid mode, dynamic contrast on) I always um chio.

One of my best friends also has an LG C9 and he says he watches shows on Vivid and I'm like bruh....

Having used the 48 lg cx oled for 3 mths now I can also say once you go oled it's quite impossible to go back. It's true for most other content like YouTube or free to air, the normal led and oled won't show alot of difference, but for hdr and movies with lots of dark or blacks, oled just sweeps led any day. Main reason why I decided to go oled was finally getting sick of the washed out/greyish blacks

Sometimes on and off my hdmi will disappear and screen black out. All my oled TVs experiencing this. 4 separate ps5s and 4 separate oled TVs, not sure what is wrong, I tried but ugreen and stock hdmi 2.1 cables. Not that often though, intermittent
Hi, wanted to reply to this, think I had the same issue on my PS4 before changing to Pro. Changed cables, TV inputs, Thought maybe the hdmi chip failing. Even wondered about quality of electric supply in home. Ever get to the bottom of it?

Now seems fine and didn’t had that issue. Maybe need turn off ps5 instead of putting it to rest mode. Actually, I changed cables and tried as well, seems like the problem did go away for 1 of my TV. However, I’m still experimenting, like different hdmi ports etc, sometimes the hdmi cable damn hot when I unplugged it etc

But I’m rotating around 3 ps5s and 3 TVs so maybe no prolonged usage so it is fine for now. I make sure I don’t game more than 3 hours on each device.

Anyone recently had issue with black screen?

Was playing all well then next moment while waking from rest mode no display.

But once I set the display format from enhance to standard or normal the display is back.

So now it most likely is TV cannot display enhance format but previously I can....

What you guys are both mentioning are the quirks with HDMI. Due to them having to redo a handshake, sometimes the handshake fails and all you will see is a black screen.
I don't put my PS5 to rest mode as the bad experiences with the PS4 games in rest mode has scared me away from ever using it. Games can sometimes be wonky as a result of rest mode. So I will just turn it off instead to avoid handshake issues as well.

It's just the quirks of HDMI due to Copyright Protection all (HDCP). Where if the HDMI Handshake between the source device and the TV fails, you'll be presented with a black screen. Doing something that will force a refresh/reconnection and thus a new HDMI Handshake is being done might help solve the black screen issue.

I kinda gave up hunting for drops online. Just went to GameMartz @ Funan and deposit $200 today and pray hard the wait isn't that long lol. The staff in GameMartz did say the waiting time may take about 3 - 4 months and will let me know via phone call. I also registered my name in the SONY store since April but no news so far. I heard from SONY staff that they had a backlog of 800 customers to complete at that time. (Someone in this forum has claimed it has now reached 2,000 in waiting list)
