Until now PS5 still oos....

Any news of PS5 slim though?

No news so far and based on the releases of past PS & Slim models, reckon a probable 3 to 4 years wait for a PS5 Slim.

PS2 >> Slim: 2000 >> 2004 (4 yrs)
PS3 >> Slim >> Super Slim: 2006 >> 2009 >> 2012 (3 yrs)
PS4 >> Slim/Pro: 2013 >> 2016 (3 yrs)

So perhaps a PS5 Slim in 2023 or 2024.........

I don't think we've seen a supply crunch and backlog like this for previous versions of the PS. Got a feeling this is going to push the window out for a PS5 Slim or Pro. They might make some internal changes to the existing console first, to try and reduce cost.

I don't think we've seen a supply crunch and backlog like this for previous versions of the PS. Got a feeling this is going to push the window out for a PS5 Slim or Pro. They might make some internal changes to the existing console first, to try and reduce cost.

they already released an updated version with smaller heatsink and changed the only active cooling fan

chip shortage means this gen...as new as it is.....is gonna to probably last longer than the usual duration.

Slim will probably be possible at least when 5nm is widely available, with AMD redesigning the chip into a smaller package allowing for a lower power consumption and lower TDP to make it possible for smaller heat control setup.

man....the chip shortage really worse than i thought...on the game console front, it seems only the xbox series s and nintendo switch OLED are available to buy in singapore to a degree. PS5 (both version) and Xbox Series X are as rare to encounter as mewtwo in the wild and surprisingly, even PS4slim/Pro and all the xbox one models had been thanos-snapped out of existence. That's kinda weird because back then, even when the PS4 has been released, you can still easily go in store and buy a PS3 and same thing when PS3 is newly released, you can go in and buy a new PS2.

Anybody can advise

1. Got a Samsung Hw-950a. When connect pS5 to it to TV, HDR not supported. When connect direct to TV HDR is enabled. Any way to connect through the Soundbar and get HDR

2. Playback of 4K Bluray disc, how to get Dolby Atmos sound

Have you solved your issue? i'm using Q950A but didn't face your same issue.

1. I use HDMI arc instead to output sound from tv to sound bar.

2. Disc must support Dolby Atmos then you can get Dolby Atmos.

nope........the trend still continues, either queue endlessly or get from scalpers,...end of the day do so much for the version1 PS5...i already give up, seems like most games going to PC as well, even 1st party games.

Submitted my pre order request with Sony singapore. Was informed by the CS Agent that the current waiting list is 12k and they JUST fulfilled pre-orders from Jan 2021.

The 'rough' estimate waiting time she gave me is at least 6 - 9 months. Lol.
