Actually Sony jus outright buy up take two interactive.

Doubt Sony can afford to. It may have the cash in hand but it won't shell out so much for it. Not to mention if Bethesda etc is 7.5 Billion, Take two is at least 2 - 2.5x that especially with rockstar under their belt

Don't forget Microsoft is a trillion dollar company that will have a much easier time buying up Sony than for Sony to acquire take two.

exactly. It entices people - even the hardcore Sony gamers - to buy an Xbox. Hell even the Series S. Why shell out 70 - 90$ for a game when you can have lots of games on gamepass for much cheaper.

Nah..wont entice hardcore gamer as budget usually less of an issue and they are more of looking out for the exclusive titles that only release on Playstation.

It is more of attracting budget, less frequent gamers like parents who can get the console (xbox series s) and games for their kids at alot lesser.

Not sure this has been asked before, are digital games in your PS account playable on the new platform?

Phil Spencer says Microsoft will honor the PS5 exclusivity commitment for Deathloop & Ghostwire: Tokyo.

Future Bethesda games will be on Xbox, PC, and "other consoles on a case by case basis."

That’s great to know... pls don’t misunderstand me in anyway. I had a hard time contemplating between the 2 and the lower cost at that point of time in addition to the many reviews and comments swayed me on my purchase. At the end of the day, we’ve got great screens to game our PS5 on... so cheers :)

Still, I seriously doubt when we’ll get to see a 4k 120hz game, especially with ray tracing on... 😂

Guys... Before you buy an oled do note burn in. My C8 burn in after about 1.5 years. They will say it rarely happens la Simi la but after 1?5-2years it will happen and the reality is that when u buy them at that point no TV has run that life span. My C8 has a perpetual division 2 logo on screen. Simi pixel correction all that no use one. Btw I work full time long hours and game occasionally at a 2-3 hr sprint normally during weekends. So u can imagine how dulan I was when I have the perpetual eagle on my screen. I am thinking of going to x90h or q90t back to led. You have been warned.

Uh a bit hard lar I feel. Microsoft Xbox is to promote the use of directx.

No way Sony or Nintendo will make their hardware modeled directly after pc components. I believe PS4 is the outlier because there’s really nothing proprietary outside of checkerboard rendering.

I agree. There's a possibility after 9th gen or 10th gen, Microsoft may leave the console hardware business & become a software-only, third party developer in the console market. Releasing every single game, in addition to Game Pass Subscription Service, across all gaming platforms including PlayStation, Nintendo, PC, Mobile devices, Streaming via Project Xcloud.

Similar to Sega in the past. They stop making consoles & exit the market. Become a software-only company & develop games for its 'rivals' instead. Back in the day, it was difficult to imagine ever seeing Sonic releasing on any non-Sega consoles, especially Nintendo platforms. Yet it happen.

Seems like in the future, we might be seeing the very real possibility of Halo, Gears of War, Forza & Fable appearing on PlayStation. Sounds farfetched now but we'll see. Only time will tell.

with Bethesda's acquisition, even if their games continue to be available on Sony, it doesn't make much sense for consumers if they can get their day 1 on Game Pass vs 1x 70 USD purchase (you can still sell them later)

i get motion sickness when playing first person games so I don’t play most of Bethesda games except for Elder Scroll so i’m good lol

But then again, if the next Elder Scroll is Xbox exclusive then i might buy xbox jus for that lol

If you have a mid to high end PC, you don't need to get xbox at all.

If you don't have, then it's time to consider getting a mid range PC for gaming, as it serves you more than just a xbox.

I've been saying this many times for many years, the BEST combo is a Playstation & PC for gaming.

Xbox is irrelevant, more so now that MS is targeting subscription/game passes that can play all games on both xbox and PC.

Why?
Because i wanna get an oled tv. And just nice it comes with hdmi 2.1. So why must I get an oled and purposely find one that doesn't have hdmi 2.1. Haha

The 65CX is rated one of the best 4k tv in the market so I mainly use it for movies.

I also just bought another budget xiaomi 65inch tv yesterday. That's for my bedroom for netflix. After all the coupons and discount, about $680+. Got HDR, dolby audio etc. Looks not bad, not sure how it will compare to my oled.

Then why u tell others no need but u yourself ok le?

It won't get people to buy the xbox s as many would already have a mid range PC which is better than a low spec console.

Plus MS is really pushing for non platform specific cloud/game streaming so regardless of what platform the games run on, as long as user had game pass they have the money. Selling consoles means losing money so they would rather you not buy their console at all and just subscribe to game pass and play on PC.

Agree, bought an Xbox One X for current gen and found it a waste of money, most if not all its exclusives can be played on PC. Will skip the next gen console from MS and get a RTX 3090 instead and get the best of both worlds.

MS will not limit Bethesda games to only xbox as they will make more money going multi-platform.

With MS heading towards cloud gaming/game pass subscription making games non-platform specific, I won't be surprised in future they might even drop xbox hardware.

From a profitability viewpoint, it makes sense for them as selling console hardware means losing money. If every xbox user signs up game pass they already got the money and those users can play the games on their PC. Don't forget MS has always been a software company and if there is a way for them to leave the losing money hardware business they will jump at it. I believe this is one major reason why they're moving towards cloud streaming/gaming/subscription.

Sony will follow the traditional console gaming direction just like Nintendo so I predict moving forward there will only be 2 major console hardware players. :)

What would be the point in spending $7.5bn if you are not going to change anything? Pretty confident that "other consoles on a case-by-case basis" means that they will be shutting the PS5 out.

Their aim is to get people to switch over to the Xbox. Yeah they might go all software but not anytime soon.
