That’s great to know... pls don’t misunderstand me in anyway. I had a hard time contemplating between the 2 and the lower cost at that point of time in addition to the many reviews and comments swayed me on my purchase. At the end of the day, we’ve got great screens to game our PS5 on... so cheers :)

Still, I seriously doubt when we’ll get to see a 4k 120hz game, especially with ray tracing on... 😂

Yup wont happen for 4k to run 120hz on a ps5, unless the game is like dota or csgo. That one 4k 240hz also able to run. =x

Microsoft acquires Zenimax/Bethesda for $7.5 Billion.

This give Xbox ownership of Fallout, The Elder Scrolls, Doom, Wolfenstein, Dishonored, Prey, The Evil Within, Quake, Starfield & more.

Future games from those IP/franchise is unlikely to release on PlayStation.

Deathloop & Ghostwire Tokyo will be the last Bethesda games to release on PlayStation. Moving forward, all Bethesda games might be Xbox/PC only.

I doubt those IPs will stop being multiplatform even after this.

Minecraft is still in PS.

Minecraft is still in PS.
Minecraft release on PlayStation platforms before Microsoft acquired Mojang.

Minecraft PS3 released in December 2013.
Minecraft PS4 released in September 2014.
Microsoft acquired Mojang in November 2014.

It's unlikely Microsoft spend $7.5 Billion for that deal, just to see those games continue to release on PlayStation. They'll keep those IP away from PlayStation.

PC, yes definitely. Nintendo platforms, maybe. But PlayStation, seems unlikely & low chance.

Bethesda games will continue being multiplatform, releasing on Xbox & PC only (Excluding PlayStation is part of that $7.5 Billion deal).

They still might release on Playstation. Yes, Microsoft can afford to make it exclusive but they can earn more (and charge Sony more) by releasing it multi-platform.

Because even with this announcement, it makes more people take up xbox, globally Sony will still massively outsell Xbox - that's a large chunk of revenue you're missing out on if you make it completely exclusive.

They buy this to entice people to their ecosystem (not to Xbox solely) because that way Microsoft will be able to get people in its ecosystem (like how Apple does) especially with Gamepass etc.

Sony's been known for its exclusive so this actually spices up competition - we may see better curated games/exclusives on both consoles

Edit: Plus I think Phil Spencer (Xbox head) has said that he is not a big fan of exclusives [of course, this too can change]

same for bethesda fps.. all make me want to vomit..

microsoft acquisition nowadays is really "better" since it all goes to PC.
better build a PC with 3070/80 than buy a new xsx

same here! not immediately but if there's a pro version of xbox then I might buy it eventually, which imo is what Microsoft wants. Not to directly mess with Sony but to entice people into its ecosystem especially for Gamepass.

We can see in this generation it's less of a console war already because whilst Playstation still does consoles & develops It with developers' input, Microsoft & Xbox are learning more towards the cloud/software gaming side. It's like Microsoft wants to be the Netflix of gaming while Sony is carving out a more niche aspect.

If Xbox can put bethesda games in Game Pass day one, that's pretty huge savings for those who love those games.

Todd Howard release statement on joining Xbox (Director & Executive Producer of Bethesda Game Studios)

https://bethesda.net/en/article/4IwKWIj174Cb2QNTTtBAEb/todd-howard-on-joining-xbox
BGS_Xbox_LargeHero.png

“While avoiding any specifics, Todd Howard also alluded to the idea of exclusives indicating, perhaps that Bethesda would not be limited to the Xbox ecosystem: "Like our original partnership, this one is about more than one system or one screen. We share a deep belief in the fundamental power of games, in their ability to connect, empower, and bring joy. And a belief we should bring that to everyone - regardless of who you are, where you live, or what you play on. Regardless of the screen size, the controller, or your ability to even use one."

exactly. It entices people - even the hardcore Sony gamers - to buy an Xbox. Hell even the Series S. Why shell out 70 - 90$ for a game when you can have lots of games on gamepass for much cheaper.

Game pass is indeed a good value if there are alot of games on it you want to play but it is also on their mercy to remove the game anytime.
