After completing Spider-Man 2 on my PS5, I found myself going back to my PC for most games more often than not even though I have PS+ extra. Initially tried playing horizon forbidden west but gave up as I was getting my ass handed to me due to how bad my aim was using the controller.

I decided I should use my PS5 for more chill games instead and tried Dredge. Man that game is somehow so addictive I spent the last 5 hours after dinner playing it non-stop. Just wanna know if you guys have any other similar game recommendations that is more chill and easy to play.

Thanks, will try it out after completing dredge. The fact that it's available for ps+ extra is a nice bonus too

Nah FPS games are not for me, not with a controller.
I dont play fps as well. This one is more like just melee you way through the horde and watch limbs and blood all over the place. You can come up with creative ways to dispatch zombies. Very fun to destress at the end of a stressful day.

I just started playing that yesterday after Dredge. Around 2 hours in, Dave the Diver is such a humourous game. I found myself chuckling at the cutscenes. lol. It's also by another Korean Dev.

I just plat it yesterday, it's so fun exploring the islands to find new side quests or secrets, using the "Powers", finding all the fishes in encyclopedia and doing the upgrades to use for finding different fishes. That sense of discovery again. It has a mysterious and spooky vibe especially at night when all the evilness lurks. Waiting for the final Iron Rig DLC in Aug, hopefully got some bundle with Pale Reach DLC or some discounts maybe.

I only unlocked the first power Haste and I've been using it to get everywhere, am looking forward to seeing what other powers can be unlocked.

That's a useful power, combined with a speedy engine. Sometimes I didn't watch it and bust the engines lol. Slowly discover..........more to come.

Is wukong something similar to elder ring or gow that kind of fighting style
In terms of fighting style, I would say it's closer to GOW, based on the combos and speed, but definitely faster and more agile than GOW. Some say it's more like Bayonetta and DMC. Elden Ring isn't that fast. For those who play the Dark Souls series, it's slower.

Looks more like Bayo/DMC, the level designs are also quite linear so its definitely not a souls like. The visuals look good (smooth framerate) so I will probably play this game, but not on the PS5 since its only 30fps.

Actually, the definition of Soulslike is kinda broad also. Non-linear level design? Stamina Bar? Slower combat? Challenging Difficulty? Customisabe Character/Build? Enemies respawn & lose all Souls after dying? Unlocking shortcuts back to the starting point after a long and difficult route? etc etc etc.

For me personally, if the formula is somewhat similar to FromSoftware's SoulsBorne series, I would say its a Soulslike game.

Despite all these, developer Game Science themselves said its a Soulslike. Hmm........

"A Soulslike (also spelled Souls-like) is a subgenre of action role-playing games known for high levels of difficulty and emphasis on environmental storytelling, typically in a dark fantasy setting. It had its origin in Demon's Souls and the Dark Souls series by FromSoftware, the themes and mechanics of which directly inspired several other games. Soulslike games developed by FromSoftware themselves have been specifically referred to as Soulsborne games, a portmanteau of Souls and Bloodborne. The "Soulslike" name has been adopted by a number of critics and developers. However, there have also been questions whether it is a true genre or a collection of shared mechanics.

While the description is typically applied to action role-playing games, the core concepts of high difficulty, repeated character death driving player knowledge and mastery of the game world, sparsity of save points, and giving information to the player through indirect, environmental storytelling are sometimes seen in games in very different genres, the mechanics of which are sometimes described as Soulslike."

I think they are only saying its a soulslike to drive interest in the game.

It looks more like an action game to me, more elements of DMC than souls.

Yeah, likely, since Soulslikes are all the rage these days. Same sentiments here.

With just 2 days left to Elden Ring's SOTE DLC, I tried to fight Malenia again and even at Level 178, it didn't particularly make things much easier. However, with a Spirit Ash Summon (I used Mimic Tear as Max Level, just to test it out), it becomes significantly manageable for Phase 1 but to the point of not enjoying the battle. My duplicate self distracted her and even tanked her Waterfowl Dance move for me at one point while I attacked her from behind. With that very casual fight, we can delete her health by 75%. Not too sure about Phase 2 though. I think I should just fight it normally without Summons like every other mini-boss/main boss.

On a side note, my Level 178 was obtained through thorough exploration in attempt to find all the side dungeons, fight all the mini-bosses etc with little or no grinding. And I think there are still more dungeons, weapons, items etc lurking somewhere in The Lands Between.

No one else playing Elden Ring already?
