Wait!?? You can remove the original rubber on the thumb sticks? It's fixed, does it not?

Yes, supposedly, but mine came loose and the rubber can rotate 360 deg around the stick shaft. Not sure is it the way I use my thumb as my PS3 and PS4 controllers also have the exact same problem back then.

So from your reply I take it the custom thumb grip is meant to cover the whole original stick? My stick rubber is also kinda torn at the edge so I just remove it and fix the custom one and apparently it works.

Just bite the bullet and ordered the WD Black 8TB M.2 SSD from Amazon.

I mentioned in previous post that I've ordered a WD Black 4TB M.2 for <$400 from Amazon but till now still no delivery date no confirmation of product shipment no updates of any sort etc so decided to cancel that order.

When the thumbstick coating became loose or worn badly, may be better to just remove it first.

Ok, after seeing your post, I called Sony online customer service.

The 1st batch of PS5 Pro staff said already here, in fact those that preordered in past few days at the physical store some of them already collected the set as of now (!?)

Anyway I checked my order with the staff and he confimed mine is from 1st batch so Nov delivery!
