Finally, it has arrived.

hi all PS5 gurus here, i will be getting the PS5 slim disc version in about 1-2 months time.

just want to ask a few questions:

1) Does the TV specs matter here? As i do not have a TV at home at the moment, and also dont intend to spend much, would budget TVs in the likes of Hisense/Prism suffice?

2) if i dont intend to use a TV, does a projector works too? I connect HDMI to projector to play? If yes, any reco for projectors please?

3) where do you guys buy accessories for your PS5? like extra controller, charging stations, ventilator (if that's even a thing?). gameshop prices seem to be rather fixed, but where else can i get better lobangs?

4) understand that i'm not able to connect my wireless earphones (XM5) to the PS5, which type of bluetooth adaptor should i buy for such cases? any reco for this pls?

thanks in advance for any advice! cant wait to join the PS5 fam!

1. As long as your TV is 4k and has HDMI 2.1 port, should be good to go.

2. No use projectors before, can't advise you on that. Sorry.

3. Extra controllers - you can buy from Shopee or Official Sony Store. Don't think charging dock is necessary - just need to be able to plug your controller to charger with USB-C cable.

Prices for PS5 physical games are quite fixed but sometimes do look out for Sony Stores having discounts for PS5 Physical games. Another way will be purchasing Pre-owned games from the game shops which will definitely be cheaper. In addition, you can also get back some money by selling back to the game shop after completing game if you are not a collector.

4. As for bluetooth, you can either connect your XM5 using the bluetooth receiver via your TV or to buy a bluetooth receiver to connect to your PS5 - eg:

Thanks for the reply! Now i got a sense of what should i prep first before my PS5 comes.

Regarding controllers, would prices drop alot during important sale season? game shops are selling at ~$105 nowadays. 2nd hand controller from caro also scared used and abused. i dont mind spending on new controllers, just want to secure a few during sale period if possible cos i most prob planning to get until 4 controllers. And if i wanna buy 3 more it would be ~$300 bucks liao lol...

Games wise i intend to got for PS+ Extra. and also buy second hand games will do :)

Thank you!

thanks for the reply!

Also, i went to check out TVs during the weekend and realised that most 4K, 43" TVs doesnt support HDMI 2.1. due to space constrains i can only consider max 43" for now.

Is 60Hz VS 120Hz a heaven and earth comparison? Does it make or kill the entire experience?

I also read that only certain games run at 120Hz?

I'm more for single player games like TLOU:2, GOW, RDR2 etc.

Thanks in advance!

a normal entry lvl 4k shld be good enough
unless u are a pro gamer tat nitpick on every detail in gaming otherwise it doesnt feel much diff

in your case u can just get the best specs for a 43"tv will do
do not let all these factors put u down n just enjoy playing ps5

Usually if the PS5 game is running at 120fps, there is a tradeoff on the graphics department, i.e. less sharp but still acceptable. See what you prioritise, graphics or framerate. There are only some games running at 120fps 4K and you need to have a display that has the requirements to do so. Can do 4K and 60fps is good enough I guess. And ensure nits is enough (400 nits as the minimum or 600 nits and above for truly good HDR experience) to output HDR. I also learn from here and the advice is to do your research and see your own budget also.

Moving forward, as I have lesser time to play now, I may consider not renewing (on Extra now) after it lapses. See how. And lesser of those black Friday/festive discounts for existing subscribers to renew/add on subscription. They always have new subscribers discount only these days.

sony doesn't want gamers to stack. regretting not stacking until 2030.

gotta align your annual sub either to Days of Play or BF for the new sub discount.
